Gauging interest in custom 1911 grips

I am doing a run of walnut and rock maple grips.
Grips can have custom pyrography. Checkering tool is coming soon.
Maple can be dyed red, pink, blue and green right now.
Finishes range from tung oil to urethane to shellac and polish and carnauba wax finish.
Price varies between $30-$50 depending on custom work.

Looking for other templates as well. If you can provide me with an accurate template you get yourself a free set of grips!

Will these fit real steel? If so what's price range are you thinking of?

Those look great! Good work man. Will they fit Marui 1911's?

As long as they are standard 1911 grips.
I am currently looking for other grip templates. So like I said, if you can provide me with an accurate template for something else I will make a set for free.
Looking for 93r's and M9 templates right now (Not sure if they are the same or not...)

I can mail you my P226 Grips if you can make a set of these:

I want to stay away from doing that. I would hate if something went missing or got broken. my preference is to have a valid, accurate template with all dimensions to work from.
I am confirming but I think I found a set of 93r or M9 grips. pictures coming in a few moments. I will need someone to confirm for me if that would be possible :)

Is this an M9 or 93r?

That's an M9. The 93r has its safety (and fire selector) on the left side of the frame. I included other details in my PM.

P226 grips are just the grips like a 1911 or a M9, as the frame is very similiar in design. I would only have to send you the parts like you posted in the picture above.

My KWA would look awesome with wooden grips

chaz May 3rd, 2014 21:17

6 sets of maple grips being run
7-8 sets of walnut grips being run
all 1911

I am going to pick up another piece of walnut to test out a set of M9 grips for Rossco66. If all goes well I will start offering those as well.

Once the grips are cut and ready I will post a separate for sale page where you can purchase with custom burn work and colouring for the maple grips. Once I have my checkering kit I will start offering that. ETA would be summer time.

I'd just like to chime in and say that Chaz has made a wonderful set of grips for me, and i love them!

Got bored so I decided to make myself a set of Ruger grips.
This is the rough work done tonight. They fit my hands so perfectly!
These are made out of Monkeypod wood. I will be doing some custom burn work (Haven't decided on what yet) and giving them about 10-12 coats of oil and a 3 stage buff/polish :)
