Barrel nut stuck

So I recently got a new gbb and wanted to attach an RIS on it so I bought the madbull sws rail. When I tried to attach the new barrel nut it the threads were tight and wouldn't screw on all the way (ended up with a gap between receiver and RIS). so I tightened it as tight as possible but now it's stuck can't get it off. The barrel nut has a propietary wrench which I can't seem to find since sws website only sells to the US.

any other solutions of getting it off would be great, thanks.

My guess is that you threaded a metric nut onto an imperial receiver.

The standard barrel nuts for Madbull are compatible with everything but G&P, you have already damaged the threads if you are using a G&P receiver. Be very very careful when removing the barrel nut, and you might consider getting a Madbull rethread tool to repair the receiver threading.

Attach the RIS back onto the barrel nut and hopefully that will give you enough leverage to get the nut off.

Final option would be to use channel lock pliers, but be aware that you will most likely need to apply a lot of force on the pliers so they don't slip, causing damage on the nut.

Don't use channel locks, you'll scuff up the bolt.

Depending on how robust the treads in the nut are you might be able to spin in a couple pieces of redi rod and use them like a huge T-handle.

Do you have a vice block to secure the upper receiver in while you remove the nut?

Install the RIS on the nut that way.

Then use a screw driver that fits in one of the holes in the rail (There is 2 on each side if I remember correctly.

That will give you enough torque to remove the barrel nut.

Then, either buy this:

Or rethread the upper recevier to use the metric nuts.
That implies buying the correct die if you don't have it or find a gundoc that has it.

Thanks everyone!
It's a WE m4 that I have, I'll see what I can do, and also gotta get that new barrel nut meant for my gbb shouldn't be too hard and hopefully won't damage anything.
