Headset and PTT recommendations
 

I have a Baofeng UV-5R (kenwood Plug) and looking for a PTT and headset.

For the headset, want something low profile as I wear a boonie hat and a over the head headset wont work.

Thinking around the $100 total price range.

Any suggestions?

If your not going to wear a helmet I'd use a a nice speaker mic clipped up high on your shoulder and turned down. No one will hear it if you want to be super quiet and it's cheap, simple, reliable, and not cumbersome.

Thinking something like the speaker mic and earpiece shown in this thread.

The above unit is available from Tactical Command Industries but is a out of my price range ($245+), plus doesn't look available for my radio.

Anyone with some more radio knowledge, be able to tell me if this setup would work with a Baofeng UV-5R;

I am assuming the above earpiece has a 3.5mm jack, which would then plug into the above speaker mic.
