M14 EBR Compatibility

Hey guys.. my friend has a CYMA M14 EBR and i have a CYMA M14 (CM-032) Long rifle. (plastic stock.. non EBR)

I was wondering how much effort (if any at all) it would be to take the guts of my M14 (it's heavily upgraded and shoots amazingly) and swap out the plastic stock with the metal EBR set up?

is it a direct swap or will i have to use parts of the EBR (ie: outer barrer assembly, bolt mechanism, etc)

Optimally i would like to just take the plastic stock off mine and replace it with the metal EBR body of my friends and not have to modify anything.

I believe it's a direct swap, there might be a motor cage you have to transfer over though.

pull the stocks off the one and the ebr lower off the other and compare... the uppers should be the same and the gearbox should be the same, but check for stuff like channels cut into the gearbox for wires to pass through.. your m14 will be rear wired, the ebr is front wired, so that needs to change... as well as the motor cage since on the m14 I think the motor angles into the stock where the ebr it's extended straight off the back of the gearbox.

Just swapping the guts from one to the other should be quite easy provided that the brands are compatible. I just finished putting together a gun made from quite a mix of parts and different brands. I had to grind down some parts and shim up others to make it work.

The upper receivers should be interchangeable. The only thing you have to transfer over from the EBR upper is the chassis brace on the outer barrel and MAYBE the buffer assembly.

It's fairly self-explanatory once you have both of them in front of you . .
