Magpul parts

Not sure if this is the right board, but it seems to fit.
Magpul parts! Discuss.
I personally don't like their stocks or handguards, simply because the polymer makes me feel like the gun is a toy. That being said, I love their MIAD pistol grip.

Love them.

I second this. The CTR stock, one of the most comfy stocks i have.

Also love 'em. Like anything though, I don't recommend buying something strictly for the name. But lighter weight, ergonomic, and colors to break up the black, is fantastic.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I love the point of them. The light weight and contours are nice, but I feel more at home with a metal rail. To me, the weapon just feels more reliable and durable. Plus, mounting options.

The UBR stock, at least the real steal one, certainly doesn't feal like a toy. It weighs about a pound and a quarter so it's a very solid stock, and frankly it's the best stock I've ever used. The solid cheek weld is a ground breaking addition for a collapsible stock.

I don't buy for the name either, but if someone did buy for the MAGpul name, they couldn't go too wrong. That said, I prefer a metal rail Handguard as well.

I like the ergonomics of the magpul parts. i hate the way a standard m4 stock feels so the moe and ct stocks are a huge improvement.

I dont mind the parts being plastic at all, helps keep the weight down, and its durable enough. Less weight over a longer game is a good thing. Then again, my other favourite gun is all plastic as well (g36) so metal vs non metal has never been an issue for me.

Here's my custom M16 PTW, in dark earth. It's not all Magpul, but most of it is. And all the Magpul on it is real steel, not PTS.

I love Magpull PTS.
The only thing annoying is the bad replicas, You only can tell the difference by the price on ebay. Some ppl will buy the bad chinese replica and base their opinion on it. Once you have it in hand, you see the bad finish, cheap construction etc ...
Where i work we have full PTS product and i can tell, its very solid.

Too bad PTS stop their Magpull production ..
If you still want Real PTS we have some accessories still in stock.

The replicas I have bought were shit and didn't fit right (CTR and MOE stocks). The real stuff felt like it was made of more dense and thus slightly heavier plastic and fit much better. Love the MOE grips and stocks. Handguard isn't my style but nothing wrong with them if you are front wired.

++ for the .7" buttpad, and PMAGs.

Ricochet December 13th, 2013 00:12

There's absolutely nothing wrong with PTS, but for the price difference, if you can get/use real steel, do it. Some of the more complex stocks are way more expensive real steel versus PTS, but general crap like the MOE, and AFG, can be ten dollars or less different.

Magnaroth December 13th, 2013 07:15

The AFG that I purchased is a Real Steel version, and it cost me as much as the PTS remakes. I love it.
