E1 SR25 mag compatability

So I just picked up my 3rd SR25... this one being an E1. Much to my dismay, my Pmags do not fit the receiver. Just wondering for anyone who has an E1/JG SR25, what midcaps work in them?

Try this link bud, it was linked to me as well regarding mags for the G&G sr25, so it shows a list of compatible parts/mags etc.

Didn't help unfortunately. The guide also says Pmags don't fit the G&G, which is wrong, they fit wonderfully.

I was told that also, just figured I'd pass it along. Some mags should fit ie CA, but might need the mag catch slot modded slightly to connect.

So just to bump this, I got the Pmags to fit by sanding both the back and the front of the magwell. To get them to feed, I had to twist the mag release ever so slightly so that the mags sat higher in the gun.

I had the same issue with my G&P SR25; it's an ancient reciever though, 1st or 2nd run I think. G&P's own standard metal mags are an extremely loose fit, I originally shimmed the magwell with fuzzy Velcro tape(!). These newfangled Pmags are ever so slightly too wide to fit, even with the Velcro removed. A light sanding on the mag fixed it; still snug, mag doesn't drop, but I can pull it out quickly and effortlessly (as I tell the ladies).

I was using G&P non-PMag midcap magazines on my CA SR 25, they fit very tight.
I was told the PMag won't work on CA SR25 but never had a chance to try.

They won't because of the longer mechbox. CA mags have a cutout at the rear to clear the mechbox.

G&G/clones use a standard mechbox with a standard hop-up and a spacer between with a long nozzle.

Pmags work fine in the A&K version, which also has a long mechbox.

A&K version as a hybrid mechbox.
Not CA and Not G&P.

E1 uses a long V2 like CAs

I have an A&K Sr25, it's a long gearbox, so does the CA.

The Echo1 has the weird hybrid mechbox with the long cylinder head but normal sized cylinder and piston.

This is true. I was just doing some work on an e1 sr25 and noticed this weird combo.

How do you rate the exterior quality of the E1 SR25 to the others? Which has the best exterior?

The E1 is my least favorite of the ones I've seen. The finish is strange, like it's too smooth. It also has a pretty decent amount of receiver wobble.

The A&K is the most solid out of the ones I've tried. It's quite heavy, so I'm guessing there's a lot of cheap, heavy materials in the alloy that it's made out of. Still, it's probably my favorite.

The G&G is incredibly light, but also has receiver wobble. I run my G&G as my primary rifle now, it's quite durable, it just doesn't feel it.

It all depends if your mind automatically assumes heavier=better or not. I know that the heavier ones aren't better just because they're heavy, but part of me can't shake that assumption :p

I wish I brought my SR25 for that game 2 weeks ago with Spike... So I could try his Pmag. :D
