Lonex Vs. ProWin Hop Up Units

Hello ASC,

A while ago I decided to upgrade the Hop Up unit on my LCT AK74. I purchased the Lonex one off Airsoftparts.com, because it was a little cheaper.

Does anyone have experience with both these products? Is there a noticeable difference in performance between the two? Or is the price difference just 'cause of the brand name, and the blue paint?

What was wrong with your LCT Hop up unit? I've had many stock parts out perform aftermarket products - however I understand aftermarket upgrades if you're concerned with durability for longevity of the aeg.

I always try and match the air nozzle and hop up unit just because they are ment to mesh with each other - less likely to suffer an fps drop from air leaks.

The Prowin is also CNC'd - I really like that, I run an SHS cnc'd hop up unit in my m4 - its all one piece, no leaks and its clean with no metal excess.

In my expirience with a Lonex unit (when it came to an M4) I found it difficult to find an air nozzle/gear box combination that meshed well with it, with no air leaks.

The bigger issue I had with the unit was the adjustment arm and how it was shaped differently than most standard units - therefore the nub would contact the hop up sleeve in a different area, and again contact on the bb.

I'd suggest taking out your hop up unit/inner barrel all together and assembling it outside of the gun - once in each hop up unit - and dialing your hop up all the way, checking how far down the nub will actually go - and most importantly having a chrono handy will be a valuable asset to see if you have any leaks with each unit (you have 3 to compare now with each other)

If you're looking for a performance difference when it comes to range/accuracy/fps gain - you're likely to have better results with a good hopup sleeve/nub combo and tight bore barrel rather than the actual hop up unit itself.

My LCT Hopup Unit (along with my whole teams LCT's) wasn't tight enough on the adjustment arm, and thus it would un-hop throughout games, and we'd be constantly readjusting.

This required a new unit to be installed, which I have already done, and my Lonex Hop up unit, and prometheus purple rubber works well.

I was just wondering if people noticed a difference between the two brands.

I have a lonex hop unit in my cyma ak with an shs nozzle. Perfect seal for me.

Gotcha.

I'd still give that a Prowin a chance - One piece, precision cut leaves less room for errors in manufacturing IMO.

Also - threadlock!

Sidenote: In my old AK I found the King Arms plastic unit to be flawless and had fantastic engagement, also resolved miss feeds/double feeds - although I swear never to go anything other than metal for material again - watch out for over turning screws on a plastic unit.

Doing some reading older model LCT's had Cyma internals, newer ones have their own.

You can add a small rubber o ring under the adjustment screws and solve your "unhop" problem quite easily and cheaply

Haha, too late now, I've had the new unit for quite some time, and it works really well.
