Does Rechargeable Li Batteries Work for G&P CREE LED RAS Tactical Weaponlight ?

Recently I ordered a G&P CREE LED RAS Tactical Weaponlight (200 Lumens). It includes 3 Non-rechargeable CR123A batteries(which is 3V). Now I'm considering purchasing some rechargeable Li batteries(which is 4.2V max) for it. Will it work fine on that light or burn it?

You mean the RCR123A or 16340 battery (basically the same thing)?
Normally, most of the LED lights are fine with changing to 16340 which is shlightly higher in voltage, but if yours uses 3 batteries, that is like changing from 9V to 12.6V and I am not that sure, sometimes 12V is the upper limit. (12.6V should be fine... but I won't suggesting risk it before getting the datasheet for the LED. )
You can try figuring out out which type of Cree LED it is using, and find the data sheet of the Cree LED.
Or you can find RCR123A that is 3V, they are slightly harder to find than the 3.6-4.2V ones, but they are available. They will also need 3V charger that are different from 16340 chargers.
There is another thing you may have to watch: most RCR123A or 16340 are slightly longer than the CR123A batteries. Check if you have enough space in the battery space.

I mean RCR123A.
Flashlight will arrive on Monday. I will check out the size and the type of LED it uses.
Thanks for the info
