Oh, and if I read correctly, and by the looks of it, those are just M4 mags turned up-side-down.

If you really wanna put ak mags in your m4, you could get the Hurricane SR-47 kit. It's pricey, but it looks good.

Nocturnal August 31st, 2005 12:31

I don't think they're M4 mags inverted. The hole is in the center of the body and would not interface with the mag catch, and furthermore is on both sides of the mag. From my experience with real-steel I'd venture to say those are characteristic of AR-15 40-round magazines made by USA Magazines, universally the most reviled and hated magazine company to ever have existed. In fact, many shooters end up using USA Mags for target practice, they're really that bad. Gutting them and converting to airsoft use is probably the only way those mags would ever feed anything reliably.

you can see the holes where the mag catch inserts... these are simply upside down

No they're not, I believe W.K.Shuridys is correct.

The mag catch hole should be offset. On those magazines, they're centreline.

ALSO, in the first gun in that image, look at the location of the hole... shows on the bottom left side of the magazine. If the magazine is upside down, and you were to flip the magazine "right-side up", the hole would end up on the right-side of the gun: The mag catch catches on the left side, not the right side. These are definitely not typical magazines.
