EAR website down: May 28th
 

Greetings.

Just a post to let everyone know in the edmonton airsoft community that the staff is aware the EAR site is down. Not sure what is wrong as yet but I suspect either a DoS attack of some type or bot spam. I'll update as we learn more.

P.S. for those wishing to sign-up for games this weekend, you can PM me directly and I'll forward it on to the proper folks once the sites back up.

Why on earth would someone do a PoD or something similar to an airsoft vBulletin website?

Its not necessarily that forum specifically but something else hosted on the same server or hosting service or sharing connectivity with it, etc.


Just poked around, the server is in Montreal and 6 other websites appear hosted on it; the server's IP pings fine and other sites are responding normally, so it would appear it really is just a case of bandwidth overage. Maybe spambots.

Someone forgot to pay the phone bill, as it were?

What time is the Noobania game start at? I got the location but not what time to show up.

Varjeal - with the site down, maybe post a game thread here then at least the players on both ASC & EAR, will have the game info and can pass it along to their friends.

This was a legit 509 error. The site exceeded the bandwidth limit that was set. More info soon.
