Question about upgrading the grip on a VFC M4 Sopmod
 

I recently purchased this...

and I attempted to install it but it seems that it pushes the motor much farther in than the original grip and I think this is causing my gun to not fire.

I was wondering if I were to modify the motor plate and remove the raised parts would this work? I attached a couple pics to show what I mean. The original grip doesn't have these raised sections.

And after looking at the original one I realized it does have those raised sections.... Any tips?!

It's called motor height adjustment. Look at that brass raised bit again and you'll discover it's a screw. Adjust it in or out to set the ideal height for your motor so that the pinion gear and the bevel gear are making sweet sweet love to each other and not squabbling like a couple of angry cats.

Tried that.... the motor is pushed in all the way. There is no room for adjustment at all.

Your wires may have to be re-arranged a little bit to route them around those raised sections.

They are there to keep the wires better separated.

When installing the grip, often it's helpful to completely remove the motor height adjustment bolt, and observe the motor is perfectly centered over the hole. If it's not then you'll run into adjustment problems. Hope this helps.

If I remember correctly, you have to re-route the wires around the motor (stock usualy has both wires at rear, you need one front and one rear).

It might be the reason why your adjustment does not work.
Also, when loosening the adjustment screw, knock on the side of your grip a few times to let the motor pull back (It's held in place by a spring and might be caught in a wire).
