What company makes the best AK externals?

I am looking into buying an ak and was would like to know what people's opinions are as to which ones are best!

I've become a really big fan of LCT. RealSword is still a top contender, but uses many proprietary parts, where LCT is TM based.

COL.TIKER March 19th, 2013 21:17

LCT is awesome!

Redzephyr March 19th, 2013 21:42

Never owned an LCT, but I've handled a few of them and they've all seemed to be top-notch. I like my VFC quite a lot, as well, even if the pistol grip feels and looks like cheap toy plastic. Not an expensive fix.

LCT, if you like old school Guarder or Inokatsu

iKliiu March 19th, 2013 21:55

Dboys steel AKs are also very nice.

Hectic March 19th, 2013 22:09

LCT is a good looking realistic ak. Real sword is tops in the books of may but as said befor lots of parts are specific to realsword. VFC also makes decent ones but on a bang for buck basis and some nice wood and sturdy steel or aluminium id say LCT only "issue" is if you want a ak47 they have discontinued it so you will have to get the AKM. Tho i think you can still buy the "kit" for the 47 ie the externals to convert an existing gearbox or say kraken over to an LCT ak47 with the wood anx reciver and such.
Www.lctairsoft.com if youd like to look at their selection of aegs and kits

LCT!!!! and Isn't VFC just LCT externals but VFC Gearbox? ANywho those two brands are the best in terms of externals for AKs other than Realsword but you are limited to its proprietary internals even though they still rock

VFC is pinned construction like a real AK with adjustable windage on the front sight.

LCT uses grub screws with a fixed front sight.

vfc is definitly better but damn LCT are nice for the price and the vast selection of models is another selling point

LCT&Dboys

I have an LCT AK and I have had two gun Docs look at it. One just said out right it's crap and the other more politely told me it's a poor design. I hesitated to buy a D-Boys AK74U but I did it anyway and the thing is a tank! Sure like all guns you need to replace the barrel and rubber but the thing is solid and works like beast! I also have a Real Sword one as well and that one is the Rolls Royce of AK's! Just mags are harder to match up on the RS and cost more. In my experience anyway.

pre 2009 LCT that is true, AFAIK the current one uses the same mechanism as real ak.

Off_kilter June 13th, 2013 16:45

Its not the same as a real ak but its not tgat crap tm design either.

LCT New Version still has grub screws for front sight and gas block. But one can argue it's a purist thing. Dboys/Kalash full steel guns are budget VFC style guns and are realistic, except for some minor issues like loose front sight drum etc. Wish more retailers brought them in over CYMA they cost just as much too.
