Contras Mini Gear Review - LBT NSW CQB Rig

This is a London Bridge Naval Special Warfare Close Quarters Battle rig...yeah, super long name :P

Quote:

The London Bridge Naval CQB Harness carries battlefield essentials at your finger-tips. Four double M4 mag pouches are nestled on the front of the rig. Two pistol magazines can be stowed in a pouch at the center of your chest. A pair of utility pouches on each flank also feature snap-in elastic lids to be used as mag dump pouches if necessary. Sewn behind these dump pouches are elastic loaded radio holders and on the side are specialized pouches to hold fragmentation grenades.

The padded shoulder straps can be worn in X or H harness configuration and feature velcro routing channels for commo and drinking systems.

The rig holds about 8x M16 mags

At either side of the rig, it has a pouch for Motorola Saber sized radios

It can hold 2 pistol mags at the front

In front of the other rifle mag pouches are these little pouches, not quite sure what they do yet

At either side the large pouches are the utility pouches, have an elastic cover on them to keep them in, the elastic lids can be removed as they are held in place by snap buttons

The rig also comes with a internal mag pouch that can hold medium sized pistols, like 1911s, Glocks, and Beretas

Finally, the rig has 2 grenade pouches, not much use for airsoft I guess.

This rig was kind of a impulse buy, someone was selling it for a good price and I snatched it up right away. It came in khaki, so I gave it a heavy spray of OD krylon, most of that has worn off, but at least the bright khaki is now subdued.

This is probably my most liked rig from the many I have bought before, it is quite light, holds everything I need right at my fingertips, does not trap heat as bad as some other items I have owned.

out of curiosity, how is the draw with the beretta? Looks kinda awkward to me, drawing it right under the chin.

I have yet to try using this holster in a game, I usualy use my safariland 6004 as a holster.

Man yuxi the first 2 pics are huge 56k warning! The rig is very light but not suited for large frame guys. It will look like a Bra on large guys..

Nice rig Yuxi. Finally got it eh? It's one bullit proof rig, probally one of my favorites, since it's one of the only ones I have left. I find that it works best over body armor. I like the setup of the pockets, very easy to get at, especially the radio pouch. The holster I don't use much, because, I preffer drop leg style holsters, cough, 6004, cough. But I did try it out once. Not the fastest in the world, but you'll never loose it. Here's a pic of mine, the one on the left.

Arghhhh!!! What the hell are those mystery pouches for?! It drives me crazy! Nice looking rig though. I feel it could be improved my open-topping those pistol mags pouches and adding kydex, but I'm just crazy like that.

Its a good idea for sure, I mean if you need to reach for pistol mags chances are its sort of an emergency, and these certainly are not a quick way to access those mags.

But yeah, I still dont know what that pouch does, Rexter, any idea?

have you tried putting a small radio like a ICOM

or a strobe

firemachine69 August 10th, 2005 02:05

Excuse my ignorance, never had the pleasure to try one on. :D

Eddie August 10th, 2005 04:40

Another public airsoft sighting.

I never thought I'd personally see it, but...

Yesterday I was walking from my house to the movie theatre, about a 10 minute walk nothing too great.

I live on one of the most-used roads in town, as it is attached to a highway.

I started walking, and I get about 5 houses down my street, when I hear the all too familiar sound of an AEG. It was a parent and a child, in their FRONT YARD, shooting a Mini at a tree...a tree that a few seconds earlier, I had just walked past. It's not that big of a surprise seeing as how it was one of the welfare houses on the street.

So now I know that it's happening in my town. My little town where I once was the only airsofter I knew of, if not the only person who knew what airsoft is.

There really isn't much I can do about it I guess...
