Well VSR-10
Yes, I know it is a clone, but my buddy is giving it away to me seeing as he doesnt want it anymore.
Anyway, I know that the parts internally are stupid easy to break. I was wondering what internals I should buy in order for it to be a beast internally, obviously i don't want it shooting 550+ FPS. I just want it shooting straight all the time as a sniper should. So anyway, new hopup(Not sure what kind it takes), what else? |
Depending on what spring you put into it, you will need a stronger trigger(sears).
Good bucking (look into an R-hop or ER-HOP). |

Not sure of the quality of the WELL barrel but I think its safe to say that your HOP UP is the most important part for accuracy - Barrel is usually second.
|
For barrel, go with a TM "precision" hop-up set. It comes with a 6.03 tightbore, really good rubber and the stock TM chamber (that is way more precise than the clone crap).
Then, if you want to stay sub 400, get the Deepfire steel sear set and your choice of china aluminum/steel piston. If you want high-end, repeatable accuracy, go full out. There is no middle ground. The only difference is you might have a harder time fitting the high-end parts. |
Just don't convert to AEG barrels, the KM/TM style rubbers are better

Where might i mind these upgraded parts? Because I would like to get this sniper done quick. |
Something like that will work for now, with the reinforced trigger parts.

Do some searching around for an s-trigger. 90* sear for VSR rifles. Looks like a really good upgrade for a far better price then a v-trigger. And as stated, Laylax or PDI will treat you well. Granted there are other good brands out there that will perform well (Guarder/Modify). |
What are your thoughts on the angel custom upgrades?
|
A 90 degree sear set is very expensive...
I don't even think you really need to upgrade any internal parts if you just want it to shoot straight. It'll hold for a while. Just do the DIY mods and maybe sorbo on the cylinder head to reduce the impact a little bit. If you want accuracy it's mostly in a consistent hop unit. Shimming helps a lot here. I made my own hop arm because I was sick of fussing with shims.. I use a 45' sear set (EDGI) with a lower spring (sub 400fps) and I shoot straight every time. |
pss10 ftw, teflon cylender, air seal chamber, 6.02 or 6.01 tightbore, pss10 piston, reinforced first and seccond sears, then just chose a spring to suit your fps needs. Cut a peice of o ring or the clear plastic bit of a pen and put it between the nubs on the hop up arm for better hop up for heavyer bb's i run .36's but thats a 513fps gun, id say .30 would be good for 400ish, tho not sure y youd want 400 most places allow 450 even for new snipers.
all told you will probably spend 3-500 on parts to build a consistant platform but with a clone(i use a TSD) it will still have issues, im just waitin to find a mauri to swap my parts into. Good luck, enjoy. |

Apparently the Action Army stuff isn't too bad and quite reasonably priced. You can find their stuff on eHobby. However if you want the best you'll have to shell out for PDI and Laylax. If you have a 90 degree system you might also want to take a look at Noobies M-Trigger system as an alternative to other 90 degree systems. |
I'd stay away from the AA Teflon Cylinder... I bought one and the pins that anchor the piece of metal that support the spring guide stopper became very wiggly very fast. I ended up capping the entire end in jb weld to solve this issue. Actually makes the cylinder sit nice and tight in the receiver but i wouldn't do it again given the option.

A customer of mine purchased some Angel Custom stuff for VSR10 from me and then bought some Laylax stuff. He is convinced that AC is simply Laylax rebrands. He said the stuff is exactly the same. Must have come from same factory.
