m4/m16 battery location?

I didn't want to get flamed...

My vietnam style m16 has a full stock on it, with plenty of room for the battery. I would like to switch it to a retractable or folding stock...

But then where would the battery go???

thx ;)

In a crane stock (need crane battery), in the buffer tube (need a buffer tube size li-po), or in the front hand guard (need mini type battery or smaller size).
If you use a RIS hand guard, you can get a battery box (with the looking of an AN/PEQ-7 or such) and put battery in. But I don't think those would look right on a VN style M16...

Another possibility is to get a cheapo magazine and a ready mag system, route your wiring through the fake bolt release (from a front-wired gearbox), and then stick the battery into the magazine's shell.

An airsoft player I knew in China told me that one of his friend put the batteries in a messenger bag and wired it to the gun... http://www.airsoftcanada.com/images/...on_mrgreen.gif

But VN was all about taping mags together for a quick reload. A ready mag system would look wrong on a VN kit. ;)
