Watching a game
 

Hi guys I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I thought I would give it a shot. I was wondering if it would be at all possible to come out and see how a game is played. I'm an older guy who is interested in airsoft. I live in Dundas, Ont. and if there are any games close by, I would'nt mind coming out to see a game. If it is at all possible, let me know. I would recommend dropping by Ultimate Airsoft in Toronto on any given night, as they have a viewing booth + a CCTV system so that you can see the action.

Should give you an excellent idea of what you could potentially be getting yourself into.

Ultimate Airsoft (UA) is indeed one of the best spots to watch a game. There's a fair bit of down time too between games (while slower people reload), so you'll have plenty of time to talk to people, and check out their gear as well.

Lots of videos of games on Youtube.

I think he means dundas, as in down by hamilton where Cooney lives, if so your closest field is Soldier of fortune I believe, look for events there

I would agree with going to Ultimate Airsoft. But your best bet is to just youtube some videos about airsoft. All the info you need right there!

If you're just starting out and have/know nothing, are totally lost as to what this/that/other means...the biggest upside to physically going to a game is that you'll get to see what it's about, how guys sort themselves out and maybe get to try stuff out before you sink any money into it.

For local games...run through the Ontario Games and Events section for dates/times/locations.

Contact the host (either PM or post in the thread) and ask him if it's alright. They may be able to (or know others who can) sort you out with eyepro and maybe guns/gear for the day so you can try it out. If you post up in a game thread that you are just starting out and are looking for loaner stuff, you might get someone to chime in that they have spare stuff that they'll loan/rent you.

Otherwise...there's places like Ultimate Airsoft and TTAC in Toronto. They have regular events at set times...and have rental stuff there. They may require you to get your own goggles (any paintball rated goggles are fine)...they may be able to rent them to you.

There's also "Noob" days posted now and then...where the focus is getting new guys oriented with the game. What's needed, what's not, etc...

If you are going to a game, might as well just borrow/rent a gun and mask and try it out, playa little.
