WE 4168 Full Auto Problem
 

Hi All,

Got my first GBBR, a WE 4168. Gun fires great, but when put into full auto it shoots a small burst and locks. Switching to semi unlocks it and it shoots again.
Doing some digging on google I came across the following solution and just wanted to confirm this is something that I should do.

My guess is that your bolt doesn't travel far enought to engage the thin plate that runs from the front of the trigger box to the auto-sear. On my recently acquired PDW it does not engage the full-auto all the time, but I noticed that there was an additionnal shim on the valve's rod, blocking the bolt from going completely forward (and thus not engaging the sear)...

You didn't mentionned if it was Open or Closed bolt, this might help...

When it does jam, try to push the forward bolt assist and try firing again after that. If it does fire well, I just explained your issue.

Thanks for the input. I tried pushing the forward assist and nothing, only when I move the selector to semi do I hear a click and can fire again.
Its an open bolt.

My 4168 is doing what the PDW in the video is, it pushes the hammer to far down and it catches the selector plate. Once I move to semi it uncatches.

If I shave the lip on the back of the hammer like the fix in the video will it affect anything else?

It shouldn't. Your problem is definitely in the trigger mechanism.

I recommend just buying a new openbolt kit for around 100

Its a simple fix, you don't need to do all that nonsence.

You have bend the fullauto sear either a few degrees forward or a few degrees back by the tooth that contacts the safety switch.

It's mostly trial and error to get it in the right spot for your gun to function 100%.

Don't grind off the hook at the end of the hammer. Clearly the youtube author does not know what he is doing.
