best universal holster choice

I am trying to buy a universal adjustable holster for my chest rig. The best one I have seen is the OE Tech Condor but that is a leg drop down.

Does anyone know if it has Molle straps on the back to be attached to a Molle chest rig? I need to go universal because I have a 1911, M9 and glock and at times have a tactical light attached.

There are no good universal holsters.

But the Condor one is quite good (I tried and decided that I was better with a clone Serpa... for about the same price).

If you are switching around guns each game, you might want to consider a belt or drop-leg... easier to change and you can actualy have 3 setups that work perfectly (ie serpas with the correct mag pouches... glocks are double stack and 1911 are single... pouches don't interchange properly)

My big question was if the drop-leg versions being very common and universal but do they have the ability to molle attach to a chest rig. There on no pics of these showing the backs so I can really tell.

If I am gaming with both a 1911 and M9, I will have both single and double stack mag pouches on my rig before the game and adjust the holster if I switch pistols.

neither of those can attach to molle without significant modification. One thing you need to be woried about if you us a universal holster is the mag release being depressed by the soft holster and you lossing the mag.

I will be using separate molle pistol mag pouches on my rig.

I need only a adjustable molle pistol holster. Don't like the drop leg method.

Too costly to go to Serpa because I have four different pistols and I also share the tactical light on these pistols. A universal pistol pouch is most practical for my needs.

I have a universal holster made by Eagle Industries, I think they call it "Universal Holster", UH-92F-MS.
I don't have a pic right now so here is the link of the Eagle Industries website.

OK holster, but universal holster are always not as good as holsters made to fit a model.

This can be attached to a MOLLE chest rig, but you can only have it vertically (unless you have some 45 degree molle adapter), which is not very useful.

Using a magazine or radio pouch seems to be one of the very common favorites.

Thanks. Exactly what I need.

A dedicated holster is good for those that have a single pistol, but not for me.

Vertical mounted is just fine. Less chance of losing the pistol.

That holster is "universal" in that it fits several kinds of M92s.

It was probably designed to fit several kinds of M92s, but a glock18 actually fits nicely, with small adjustment. Because that holster is hold together by mostly Velcro, such adjustment is easy and reversible. I don't have a 1911 to try though.

The problem with that holster is that it is bulky and heavier than dedicated holster.

MA69 VT is exactly what I am looking for and it is light. I have a condor vest, so the CB should match.

Now to find who sells it locally.

A fun thing about that holster is that it can be disassembled and reassembled into a left hand holster... Not a very useful feature for me since I am right handed and not into dual wield, but still fun to have.
Got it on ebay for only $30 http://www.airsoftcanada.com/images/...on_mrgreen.gif

Cloth holsters are usually a bad idea, since a lot of people lose magazines or even entire pistols when using them.

Get a good hard holster made for your gun, like a Serpa or Safariland.

SuperHog September 21st, 2012 09:56

Hard shelled holsters are definitely better for pistol retention but in my situation, a universal holster is better suited because of the different sized pistols I use that is more versatile because I also use tactical light now and then.

I have a cheapo ACM holster now but the strap is starting tear so time to replace it.

The vertical Condor holster being universal allows me the wrap whatever pistol have have tightly and has dual retention (strap and elastic). I also use a landyard, so kinda not possible to loose the pistol. And I haven't lost a pistol yet, and don't plan on it. I also run the holster on the chest rig and never on my leg.

As for the pistol magazines, same thing. All my pistol mag pouches have velcro strap over them.
