Canadian Customs

Hi I just ordered a package form ehobbyasia and I just read their shipping rules and found out that silencers were not allowed by customs. Included in the package was a p90 silencer my question is will custom seize the whole package or just the silencer? And have anyone ordered a silencer form ehobbyasia and they took it out of the package?

I think they'll ship the allowed stuff
You're best bet is to wait and see

Nikodemus September 10th, 2012 22:51

I have ordered a dozen silencers over the years and have never had a problem with customs.

Ive read the FAQs and I am currently awaiting age verification. Would customs allow through a King Arms Colt M4 CQB from ehobbyasia? Im pretty sure it would be best to be patient and await verification of course and I could have sworn the FAQ said no. Just curious. Apologies in advance if Im just being dense.

Why not get it from one of the many low priced retailers that have it in country already?

Maybe it's EHOBBY ASIA SPECIAL BRANDED EXTREME MEGA GUN.

and he really really really wants a branded gun by EA.

Totentanzv1 September 11th, 2012 00:39

ehobbyasia has it at $175 USD currently. Seemed like a good deal. Im seeing it at around 300 elsewhere. Again, Im asking out of curiosity, not because Im going to run out and drop money. :)

L473ncy September 11th, 2012 00:46

Add in shipping, brokerage, and duties and it's not such a great deal it can easily go up to $250-260 for it FOB destination. Also there's the whole thing with wait times.

For any other rare/hard to find gun it would be a deal to go outside the country but for that gun not really TBH.

Totentanzv1 September 11th, 2012 00:48

yep, I am sure thats true. I was really just curious about whether ehobbyasia could ship a gun here, since it seemed at odds with what I read in the FAQ. Im guessing "Yes, but whats the point" is the answer to that.

GO ahead and order one and let us know about your experience with CBSA. And to the OP, I've too have ordered many silencers from different sites and never had one seized, even the the packages that openly declare "silencer" on the declaration form.

Due to the new 2012 changes to the CBSA, you can import full metal airsoft guns now as long as they shoot 366 fps or above to be classified as a uncontrolled firearm. Good thing is; now US based distributors who ship to Canada will offer Canadian exclusive upgraded AEGs to meet the Canadian standards. Down side, expect to be paying a bit more than you think, because fees and tax conversions.

Thanks for the helpful response. hopefully I get my package. Ya with guns I would buy local. we got some amazing Canadian retailers. Velocity arms will actually let you fire the gun yourself to make sure it works.

Importing laws changed?

Looks like the laws have changed for importing non-restricted firearms in Canada?
http://cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/...2-013-eng.html

Am I reading it right; you only need to have Possession and Acquisition Licence or Possession Only Licence to bring airsoft guns across the border?

This is not for airsoft. This is for Non-Restricted Firearms. Airsoft guns are Uncontrolled (Unregulated) firearms. Completely different thing.

chaz September 11th, 2012 10:48

I don't know. Reading through this http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publicati...9-13-2-eng.pdf it seems very grey and almost at the discretion of the particular border agent.
At any rate, I digress.
