G&P MOE, Lipo alarm issues.

I recently bought myself a new G&P Magpul MOE M4 and it only takes lipo batteries. The gun is stock the only thing i have done is rewired the battery to micro deans as that is what the gun takes. The gun fires well but with the lipo alarm connected after about 10 bbs it will go off(its says each cell is at 3.8V, alarm is set to go off at 3.3V). I have a tried another alarm but it does exactly the same thing.

Has anyone else had this problem when using lipo batteries and fixed it?

My charger:

My Lipo:

My Lipo Alarm:

Any help is awesome :)

I'd put money on the gun not shooting right. and drawing a heavy load each shot. bringing your cells down WAY too fast.

Is that happening in semi or full auto?

EVG31337 May 30th, 2012 19:34

It occurs on both

If its' semi it's usually just the extra draw. Maybe that battery is just a bit under voltage for that AEG?

i have a second battery with a bit more mah 1400 vs 1200, so im going to try that and see if it is fixed. Since it is a brand new gun its odd for this to happen.

No its not odd. You gun is drawing enough amps to cause a voltage drop across your lipo to therefore set off your voltage alarm. I suggest not using the voltage alarm and learn to listen for when your lipo is begginig to loose its charge.

a 15C discharge battery is a bit low imo... like the guys said, it's triggering the alarm cause the draw from the motor is at about the limit of what the battery can provide.

MAH rating is not as important as the discharge rating on the a lipo. IF you have access to a true 20C or 25C discharge battery you will probably not set off the alarm.

Okay :)

Thanks everyone for the answers. I'm going to go get a meter without an alarm and just a readout so I'll be able to manually check so it doesn't go lower than 3.3v per cell.

To back up what the others are saying here, if you are running this thing stock and have an "import spring" in it, i.e. firing 430fps, then you will be drawing a lot of juice from that battery -- the stock G&P M120 motor that comes in the G&P MOE series is a weak motor and is generally not good at pulling anything stronger than M110 springs unless you supply it a lot of juice and slow gears.

EVG31337 May 30th, 2012 21:57

On the retailers website it is at 380fps
