Lucid Canada

Does anyone have any information and thoughts about Lucid entry level weapons? Are they good and somewhat reliable for starting players?

kalnaren March 28th, 2012 19:18

No idea who they rebrand and I haven't heard anything about them, good or bad. Given their price I'd be tempted to dump the money into a FMU/Full black gun instead.

What model in particular were you looking at?

Matt 'Maverick' Watts March 28th, 2012 19:23

Clear lower M4 from Buyairsoft.ca. Not recommended, as for the price they have listed, you can get a much higher quality airsoft gun, providing you are of course of legal age.

Get age verified so you can find out where you can get better for the same price or lower.

ya im legal age and i have my possession/aquisition for hunting rifles so age verification wont be a problem, lets say i go to Toronto airsoft, would the face to face and gun testing be better for a first buy? and i was looking at the cl36, me and a few of my friends are looking at starting

Always a good idea to handle the gun before you buy. The guys at Toronto Airsoft are great.

Many better G36's than what Buyairsoft offers. KWA and Classic Army to name a couple.

Jaelommiss March 28th, 2012 20:42

I was looking into Lucid for my first gun, as seen in this thread.

I ended up buying a full black TM G36 less than a week later when my AV went through. I'm glad that I waited.

You would have to be insane to buy anything from the Lucid line at this point, given that prices elsewhere are falling and full metal and/or opaque rifles with quality nylon bodies are pretty much already at this price point or even lower. The folks at BuyAirsoft obviously timed their introduction of this line poorly, though nobody could have predicted what was going to happen with the airsoft market this year...

Do not buy!

Too bad it's a 5 hours drive from here lol. Anyone knows if you can actually test the guns? Or just carry them?

Yea, they let you test fire them at their in store range.

lurkingknight March 29th, 2012 17:01

and by range, they mean a gap between 2 displays into a bunch of blankets. :P

Definitely go handle the guns if you can, weight, shape and finish all factor into what you're buying.

Also if you folks are in ottawa, there's a noob day at the LZ on april 14th, come play with some rentals and see what everyone else has, most people won't mind about letting you handle their gun at the range to see what it's like.

Hey thanks about that! I didn't even know they had a shooting range...I feel so noobish lol. I just emailed them to know when their range is open so that I can rent some of their guns. Not sure if I feel like borrowing people's guns :S

If you're anywhere near Red Deer or Calgary and Edmonton in Alberta, Bent Barrel Airsoft has a lot of Lucids in. I'm quite certain that if you ask really, REALLY nicely, the clerk will let you handle one or two.

Just a bit of FYI for those in Alberta.
