Qustion: BioBB's
 

Hi,
I was looking into getting some BioBB's from BBBastard. A few of my mates were saying that with bios it will gunk up the inside of the gun and I shouldn't use them unless necessary.

Is there any truth to this? There seems to be quite a bit of mixed information on the internet.

we use these almost exclusively and we have no complaints, if ur field is not bio only save money and stick to non. or set the example and run them

Are you breaking down your mags and internals and cleaning them regularly? Or do you treat the bios as regular bbs and just do regular maintenance?

Bastard Bios are awesome, no problems.
Keep in mind though, bio bbs start to degrade when exposed to moisture and light, so make sure to keep them in a dark, dry place after you open the bag, and try not to let them sit too long.

Also, systems with really tight tolerances like systema stuff and precision tightbores will like them a lot less than most other guns, and yes, if your bbs are old and degraded they will fuck shit up.

However, if you're running a crappy to good quality AEG and follow standard maintenance procedures every few games, there's absolutely nothing wrong with bios, as long as they're good ones.

Bastards are good ones.

What your friend is reffering too is the bio bb's from the past. The ones that chipped, powdered, and as you said, broke down really fast and potentially gummed up your guns or mags.

BIO bb's have come a long way since then, they are more reliable, accurate, and take longer to break down, even when subjected to water right away. The old BIO's have left a sour taste in a lot of peoples mouths, and understandably so..

Our Bastard BIO's have been given nothing but good support from those who have used them, and all of the potential problems you have listed, has never been reported.

Just don't leave them in your mags between games and you should be fine.

And as with anything bastard. Its quality.

How long should I keep bio bbs? I bought a bag last month. I now use them on every game because im scared they will go bad soon.

Bastard ECO BB's are rated for 3-5 years of shelf life.

Treat them no differently than regular styrene. Even after getting wet. Their breakdown is not triggered by air and light.

But keep the lil silica packett in the bag just to be sure and close the bag.

Huh. Now THAT's interesting.

What does cause them to break down? Soil enzymes? Are they edible?
If they're not soluble and don't photo-degrade then what the hell are they?
