VFC/Umarex HK416 Motor Connectors Loose
 

Hey guys, I have an HK416 with a Magpul MOE grip and metal MOE grip base. Whenever I fire the gun a couple of times, the vibration of the motor eventually causes the red and black leads to the motor to disconnect. Has anyone had this problem before? Looking for suggestions to remedy this problem.

Take the connectors off, crimp them a bit, then they'll stay on.

Thanks, gotta find my needle nose pliers. All I had laying around at the time were a pair of wire cutters.

FYI had the same problem with my MOE grip, they've got too much room in them

Yeah, there's nothing to keep the wires in place. I take it you just pinched the connectors tighter as well?

LOL..seems like im not the only one. Exact same problem with gun and grip. pinch connectors on the ends of the wires a bit and it should make them stick on better. I also found that the motor height adjustment screw at the base of it would rattle out on me. I took a small piece of black take and put it over the threads and put it in, worked like a charm.

Yep, just crimped them further, also started carrying a tool kit with me so I could fix it in the field lol

This is one of the only reasons why I have bought any G&P motors and haven't just stuck to ACM neos like the JG Blue.

G&P's motors have these ridiculously convenient screw-down terminals that prevent this annoyance entirely, and make the whole experience downright pleasurable (not to mention you never have to worry about breaking your connectors from too much repeated bending action).

If you are incredibly impatient like me and/or have a crapton of money to burn, or are just looking for a long term solution, you could do a lot worse than get yourself G&P motors with screw-down terminals. The M170 is pricey, but decent.

Here's hoping other companies copy these types of terminals.

Noooooooooo! Now there is an good honest difference of opinion. I do not like those G&P motor terminals. The screws are tiny and annoying to navigate around a strong motor. Apparently you like them so I will accept that there are good points as well.

I like the spade terminals. Ten seconds of adjustment and dozens of instant removals/attachments before it wears out.

You've kinda busted me, I will admit that there are times I've sworn while trying to get the screws on, especially when dealing with the non-M120 motors in G&P's line that have strong magnets and a tendency to yank the screws from 2 inches away -- however -- I've become rather good at it now so I'm swearing less and less, and now the benefits are coming out ;)

Get yourself a special terminal block screwdriver that adjust to hold the screws. I use them all the time for tight spots.

Or if you like to piss off your gundoc, solder your leads on! lol

Only soldering for aks and p90s and stuff like that is okay....but their is zero gain in performance :-).
