Disassemble Troy rear sight

I picked up a Troy V2 Rear Sight from airsoftparts and the flip-up part is wobbling right-left about 3 mm. The actual base of the sight attaches firmly to the rails, so that's not a problem. It doesn't wobble when flipped down, but once i flip it up it starts to wobble.

Has anyone had experience taking apart sights? I see there is a little hex screw/metal piece right in the middle of the flip up portion, it looks like this thing can be pushed out. When i push it slightly the end that goes into the sight gets pushed to one side by an internal spring. This makes me weary of pushing it through all the way as i may never get it back in there again and end up destroying the brand new sight.

Any suggestions?

You can disassemble those troy sights. Just push out the pin where the base and tower meet, a spring and larger pin will come out from the side. Now you'll have it apart to do your mod. Getting it back together will be a bit tricky with the larger pin and spring. Disassemble it carefully and see how it comes apart, so you'll now how to reassemble it.

Perfect. Looks like the best way to stop the wobble is to put 2 pieces of black electrical tape on the inside (top and bottom - oval shaped) of the sight. Once the pin slides in it keeps the sight in one place. Problem fixed.

Uh, no. Rather it's a "Troy Style" sight.

it's about 1/10 the real price of a troy sight.

EDIT: correction, 1/4 -1/5 the price http://store.troyind.com/Rear_Tritiu...bs-rtbt-00.htm

Dude, read the web site you linked, in the first post, of where you bought it.

It's a clone for that money! Clones copy the original trades as close as they can so that you can pretend to have the real thing!
