WE M4/416 mags
 

Anyone know if the WE M4/PDW/416 mags are the same?

As well, does anyone know if there are non "WE" mags that are compatible with the WE M4 variant platform?

WE SCAR, M4 and HK416 mags are the same. I have tried some that came with the rifles in my HK416 and vice-versa.

Anything else is not compatible.
WE PDW mags can work with some shimming, but not worth the time/work IMO.

Do they also look the same, meaning is the outside of the mag identical (groves/lines, etc) ?

Are we talking AWSS or Open-Chamber?

AWSS:
USGI style magazine
AR-15=SCAR=PDW

PDW style magazine
PDW

Open Chamber:
AR-15=SCAR=PDW=L85


I'm not sure if Open-Chamber PDW mags will work in other platforms.

As for other mags......
These brands are all for WA system ONLY
WA=G&P, GHK, Pro-Win, KA, AGM, Well, JG, KUI
VFC= Pro-Win (modified, not efficiently)
KSC= KWA
KJW = No third party mag
WE = No third party mag

if you complain about mag leak, RESEAL it, I know one shouldn't use this technique if its avoidable, but the shell-base 30 rounder are bad. You can try to buy 20 rounder Open-Chamber mag and convert it back to AWSS.

The mags I have are for the open bolt systems.

M4 mags will work in the PDW, but PDW mags won't work in M4s.

As long as they're for the correct WE system (AWSS / closed bolt or the newer open bolt), then the mags should work fine from one to the other.

I have an open bolt PDW, and I use the open bolt M4 mags. I have the 1 PDW mag that came with the gun, but it's crap. The gas reservoir is very small and it runs out of gas far too quickly. Even if they did work on the AR models, I wouldn't use them.

Does anyone have an Open bolt and a closed bolt M4 mag handy???
