Velocity Arms VA36
 

Ive been looking at getting into airsoft recently (waiting on my age verification forum-side), and trying to pick up a good deal for a nice gun at a good price.

Generally, ive been eyeing up the AEGs for less maintenance, cheaper mags, and generally a lower cost. In hunting for such, i came across the WE G39 and its derivatives, which are GBBRs that fall into the upper edge of my budget and look great with good reviews. It would cost about 450$ + expensive gas mags

Hunting around fro similar, cheaper revisions, i came across the Velocity arms VA36 (apparently similar or identical to the Jing Gong G39C - can anyone verify this?)

So upon finding this gun, i realize it falls perfectly into my ideal category (short but with rifle-like use, AEG, about 300$, etc). Unfortunately, it appears to have a clear/tinted upper receiver, but i plan to paint it if it is too offensive looking.


Can anybody give me some tips, advice, reviews for this gun, or even for velocity arms in general? There is not much information on the forum.

VA are rebrands of JG but with a clear or tinted reinforced polymer lower. A couple friends have VA guns, for the price I think they're a great deal for a starter/budget gun, comes with battery and charger.

Remember about the rest of the gear you'll need to play. That stuff gets expensive. I would say get the VA gun, get your gear... see how things work after a while and where you'd like to go.

Honestly, I think people put too much on the tinted plastic bit... does it shoot? yes... ok criteria met for playing airsoft. :P

if you want a g26, honestly spend the little bit extra and get the ares, beautiful body quality, and once you get used to it, the quick spring swap is nice for while you only have one gun to conform to the indoor vs outdoor fps limits

saw someone with the ares g36... he was complaining about lack of battery space, unless they've fixed that? Not sure how old his gun was.

the battery space is the same as any other g36c

itll fit a 9.6v mini 1600mah battery

as long as you dont spray and pay like crazy a 1600 mah battery can last a long while

hmm, the ares g36c IS a nice model, definitely one ill consider.

but noone ha hands-on reviews or experience for the VA36?

I believe the ARES is your best bet for G36 right now. They're known to have some of the best externals and decent internals. The quick change spring doesnt hurt either. And I believe the ARES G36c is at a very similar price range as the VA ones.

An Ares G36C ran for $333 last time I checked.

I have one and it's awesome. Extremely reliable, awesome service from the guys who sell it. It's a hidden gem.

G36s can take up to a 9.6v 2000mah nunchuck.

+1 for the ARES. Incredible accuracy with solid internals and externals.

only downside to a g36 is finding mag pouches that fit g36 mags

they fit pretty well actually, and surprisingly the tabs dont catch when drawing a mag out

So i picked up a refurbed VA36 today for 210$,and got a d-boys fore-grip to ride the lower rail.

The gun is solid, no wiggle within any parts, giving it a shake can hear slight jiggles on the internals but nothing particularly unexpected or out of the ordinary. Ill try to post some pics and a review in the next few days.

The d-boys grip is the only weak aspect. it has a VERY tiny amount of wiggle, as its locking mechanism to the rail leaves a little to be desired. functionally though, its a great accessory.

The va 36 is a great gun. Got mine in july. Great accuracy, still reliable, rate of fire on auto is good. Relibality this far is great. I would say get a sight as the irons suck....oh and the boys grib (which I got the sae day I got the gun)sucks ass. Used it once, found way too much wiggle, never used it since

Hey, my friend picked up a VA36-C a few months ago and i've seen it perform and it's a pretty nice gun. The range seems to reach around 150 to 180 feet maximum. Not accuratley but maximum, maximum probably 120 feet with a .25 as was the ranges above. the build quality feels very firm and stong on the rifle and doesnt feel like it would break unless it feel from a high height or u intended to break it. Interally, as said above, its just a JG G36C with a different reciever. For me i'd give it 7 outta 10.
