Now from what I have learnt FRAMES are the parts to be seized at the border... but I have also heard that Slides ( metal ones ) are okay to order off sites.

Yeah just the metal slide ( for better propane use from what I hear )

Although TM's are okay out of the box with propane from what I have heard, its also not a bad idea to get a metal slide?

I was under the impression that neither the slide nor the frame, as well as barrels that are shorter than a certain length, were safe to import...

...I could have been importing slides all this time!?

Yes. Read the import FAQ, which no one ever seems to do.
