Do MP9 mags fit in MP5, UMP or P90 pouches?

Got some KMP9 mags in the mail, and I'm looking for MOLLE options. They appear to be similar in size to MP5, UMP and P90 mags.

Has anyone tried securing MP9 mags in pouches for other SMGs? How well do they fit?

I am guessing it is the same length and size as a Thompson stick mag, so P90/UMP pouches should work.

They fit nicely in basically any mp5 pouches

Do they fit snug enough to carry without the tops secured?

I picked up one of these suppressor pouches recently and MP9 mags fit well in it. Not snug enough to run around with them open though.

I'm shopping for MP9 pouches right now as well. I really like the suppressor pouches. They're well made and the lower half of the buckle is attached to the pouch so it doesn't dangle. However I think velcro would be faster, and I'm leaning towards the triple MP5 pouches.

I find that the triple MP5 pouches with the buckle are a very snug fit, even for MP5 mags. The one I've got is, at least; I wouldn't worry about those mags coming out even if there was no top on the pouch at all. If MP9 mags will fit in them (and judging by prior posts, they do) I wouldn't worry about them coming out unless they're quite a lot thinner. I've never held one to be able to compare, but there you go.

I'm kinda worried about the triple MP5 pouches only having two molle straps. The MP9 mags are heavy as fuck. I don't want them hanging loose.

I keep 3x Hicapa long mags in a triple SMG pouch and it has two molle straps. If you thread the molle straps properly it's solid.

Thread in the MP9 forum on kwausa.com about mag pouches:

Sounds like triple MP5 is the way to go. Any idea where to get the buckle type in Canada?

MP5 pouches it is.

I'll post a summary of brand, price, quality and snugness once I've tried it out.

I have Flyye triple mag SMG pouches in Ranger Green and Coyote Brown. The MP9 mags fit nice and tight, and the coverage is faily high up. I put Magpuls on the ends of the mags, and there's still enough cover to secure them without squishing the Magpuls.

So I got a Pantac triple MP5 pouch (CB) off ebay. I went with this one because I prefer velcro to snaps, and they had it in CB.

$30. Shipping took about 2 weeks. No additional bullshit sting charges.

Quality appears good, but time will tell. One pouch seems sightly (~3-5cm) shallower than the other two.

MP9 mags fit perfectly. The flaps secure them very well, and with the flaps folded back into the pouches, the mags fit fairly snug. I trust it enough to carry my expensive mags unsecured, even while low crawling.

With the mags in nozzles down, the pouches come up to about halfway between the "25" and "30" markings on the mags, or about 2/3 coverage. If I turn it upside-down and gently shake it, the mags fall out, but they should otherwise stay put without the top flaps secured.

So as long as the stitching doesn't fall apart, this option works for me.
