gear issue

So I was looking around for a chest rig and I realized, the only ones that are near me cost wayyyy too much. Would there be any issues in ordering one from the US?
Just want to make sure there isn't some obscure CBSA code preventing me from doing so.

ATF-Hatman March 8th, 2011 12:31

As far as I am aware there is no issue with that apart from duties and shipping costs that need to be paid.
Be sure of final costs before you order.

Cheers

Just remember to make sure they ship via USPS and not UPS.

Also, check out the gear classifieds sometimes a deal might occasionally pop up there (that area should be viewable by non AV members).

Also have you checked out local surplus stores for used stuff?

CDN_Stalker March 8th, 2011 12:59

What is it exactly that you want in a rig that you can't get cheap and in Canada?

Kozzie March 8th, 2011 13:48

You can use this as a general rule of thumb for what can and cannot be ordered from outside of Canada.
Read this thread you should find it informative http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=40318
There are others like it on ASC if you search for them.

I checked all the surplus places and the rigs were at least 110 dollars. I can get almost the exact same kind from the US for half the cost.

EDIT: I have checked the gear section but its all way too small for me :C

Thanks for the help guys

Silent_Angel March 8th, 2011 17:17

when you said the exact same kind do you mean the material used? not the exact same kind because they look alike?

since your in a surplus store, I imagin they are selling the real thing as oppose to a clone. so make sure the quality of the gear your paying for. Better to have stuff that will last longer if your going to game hard.

If you're looking for a decent chest rig, I just upgraded and I'm looking to get rid of my Condor one, PM-ed.

Agreed, once I got that one I didn't use or want anything else for about 4 years, played (and crawled) hard in it, held up to the point as it looking barely used. And has lots of functionality in a small, inexpensive rig.

You can get rigs from me from $40/$50 up to $300, and buying from a Board supporter is always good. Buying in Canada is better still.
If you have to buy fom the US definately use USPS for shipping.
Cheers
