Magpul Pmags Real steel conversions.

I was just wondering, would it be possible to order a Real Pmag shell that is already gutted out(MODIFIED) to fit a WE type gas mag( or one that is already converted completely to a WE mag) to Canada? I know we already have strict laws regarding pinned magazines in country but what about in this case? Is it possible?

ONLY if you can find someone to perform the mods to the PMag shell...it's not just a matter of removing the spring and follower! The feed lips must be removed and the internals filed down to fit the WE mag internal...NOT AS EASY AS EVERYONE SEEMS TO THINK!

Also, Magpul is an ITAR restricted and can ONLY be imported with proper licensing!

You could also use the less venerable but non ITAR EMags.

Gutted as in modded. I'm more than aware that this mod takes more that just removing the follower. ;)

Even if everything is modded and the WE mag internals already installed?

WE dunno but i do know they have Pmags for the WA gbb system tho made by G&P, only downside they are not polymer but metal haha, looks like plastic tho pretty well made :P

Lookup the procedure to do it with a PTW mag. I believe it is the same process

You can try anything once...and then what happens after your flagged from the CBSA !!!!

Given the broad paintbrush used to apply ITAR, I do not suspect that there are provisions which could be interpreted which would allow "deactivated" or modified product from being exported. Such provisions would have to be extremely carefully worded to prevent the exportation of restricted items piecemeal. Allowing modified items to be exported would open the door for exportation of items that are superficially exported. It would be incongruent for ITAR to be so broadly applied but contain carefully designed provisions to allow the exportation of modified items.

oh... so it wouldn't be considered an airsoft mag? Because i have brought back a PTS pmag, rail systems, and other mags from the state before. I just wasn't sure if a WE internal inside a pmag shell is considered an airsoft item and not a RS firearm accessory.

I just ordered a 5-round PMAG and will be modding it soon to fit the WE mags :)

Be careful and sell the internals to the mag. There have been people charged for owning all the parts to make an unpinned magazine for a firearm. Not sure how a PMAG would be pinned but some are attached to the magazine body or the base plate so you would need to remove that pin. Once you do that you are in possession of a prohibited device as long as you have all the parts to make it back into a fully working firearm magazine.

Or you can just buy them up here. They are allot cheaper than they used to be.

EDIT* - the real ones to convert I mean. Not the already converted ones...
