WE M4 Build (In progress)
 

Hey guys, I thought I would make a mini-blog on my progress for my new M4 build using the WE M4 as a base platform with 2 swappable uppers. Here are some of the external and internal parts I got so far.


Internal Parts

RA-Tech AW-Super Recoil Buffer (Version 2)
RA tech upgrade package (stinger hop up, fire pin base, NPAS kit)
RA tech trigger box
RA tech short precision (260mm)
RA tech medium precision (350mm)

Im still waiting for my PMC anti-rotation latch, I need to do some research first to see what is available out there and whether it will fit on the WE lower.

I still haven't decided on the RIS/RAS for my gun along with the outer barrel. Maybe you guys can tell me what will look good since I still haven't picked a rail. Enjoy!

Those sights must have cost a pretty penny, as well as everything else.

arent RS Troy sights 200$+ each? (at least for the normal ones...)

RS Magpul stuff is pretty cheap though.... (about 10-20$ more then their PTS version)

From the title of this thread and the first sentence, I thought you were attempting to build a real steel rifle using a WE lower reciever as a base.

Any reason WHY you wanted to spend that much on sights alone?

I wonder why too.. I wonder how much you're going to spend on your optic.. lol

Looks like a solid plan so far for a great build. The troy battle sights are a nice addition. Cheap airsoft replica optics/furniture breaks. If you buy real, you buy it one time. All my RS stuff is still going strong, and I beat the living hell out of it at games.

Try doing that with airsoft repro, hell, you zero your optic 4 times.. and it breaks.

Don't just go for what looks good, if you're investing in a RS optic, go for something that will suit your needs on the field. For red dots there are a lot of good cheap options on the market. comp ml2 aimpoints will run you about 500 range, as will a good Eotech. For 4x optic options, Trijicon Acog's are going to ding you about 1400 (ish) depending on the condition/date of manufacture. There are Elcan 4x spectre DR's available in country for about 1600.

It's a big investment, but any of those products will last you until you quit the sport (with a good killflash of course)

And they all look nice.

So it can sit in a locked gun case and occasionally be brought out to shoot 5 to 10 rnd mags at the range in semi auto?

Come on... this is an airsoft forum, and some people care about realism.

I'm not bashing him or anything for attempting this, It's a really interesting build and one that I'll be following.

It just seems a little strange to pay $300 for sights on a gun that's maximum effective range is 80 meters.

I'm running an EoTech 512 and EoTech Gen2 3xMagnifier (Real Steel) on my PTW. Works awsome and I never have to worrie about them going down ;) I understand him doing this build,I'm using a R.S. upper and rail as well.My whole PT is made up of R.S. parts (lower reciver is a prime though and the outer barrel is stock) and as long as you know cost wise as to what your getting into then why not! Keep up the build looking good!

theres nothing wrong with RS optics.... because some clones are just bad.... like the magnifiers... and most of the eotech replicas....

Rail Suggestion?

1. Daniel Defense AR-15 Lite Rail 7.0
2. Daniel Defense MK18 RIS II (9") Black
3. G&P SR16 URX RAS (GP-COP003)

What do you think? Do you have any other rail options you would suggest? Im looking to build my GBBR like an M7A1
