Epic events...
Hi everybody!
Not sure, if I asking that in right section of a forum, so if not - sorry and move it where it should be. I read few postaction reports in events section, and still it is hard to estimate average number of players involved. I can understand, that this can vary greatly because of many reasons, that's why it is always good to know which of them are "must go". To give you better understanding of my question here is a so-so rule of airsoft events in Russian Federation. First May holidays - "opening of a season" event. Last weekend of September - "end of season" event. Thous two are "must go" ones. to give you ruff idea check 1:45 from a link below: YouTube - BStorm3_Divx.avi! I thinking about Border Wars III.... How many players where on last Border Wars? Sorry for such noobish questions... but I am noob, hope this excuse is good enough. Thanks. |
Holy мать твою!! That is lot of people.

Can't really compare canadian airsoft with russian "strikeball"... Hell they can rent tanks at their local military base, or even rent a whole fucking city.

Well, as far as I understand it is hard to host Big Games, being under pressure from the government. It is really make sense to be law, and not to draw to much attention.
Anyway - back to topic. Based on last year - what games where 50+ or 100+? How about Border Wars? Is it at least 200 ppl? Which games should I keep under radar??? |
To see how many people signed up, just go to the original game thread instead of the after action report, it will show
|
There was 300+ at Claybank, Sask. this spring. Too bad the rain came and screwed it up.
Hopefully there will be the same amount next year. Look for Operation Mason Relic. |
They're nothing compared to the "WestCan" games or so I've been told. I never went (too young and all) but that is the stuff of legends.
As for going to the big games though, you should consider going to a few smaller skirmishes first. That way you can get an idea of the gameplay and how things work. |
I can't find the original sign in thread, maybe you could ask Krusty what the numbers were. I seem to recall it being a huge event though, I remembered BW being the big buzz around the time I joined up but I didn't have a kit to attend. A 2nd event was in the works but I don't think enough signed up to make it worth while.

Thanks, Schlyder for info. Saw some vids from 2009 on youtube ... Just great. Hope it will be something like that close to Toronto.

Can't recall how many were at BW1...but BW2 was about 180-ish IIRC...BW3 was called off.
The sign up for games is funny sometimes...some games are hard pressed for 15 total...others sign up 100+ in just a couple of days (even if the game is a month+ aways off). Some games are capped...more to suit the numbers to the field. Some of the best ones I've had the pleasure to shoot at were capped at around 30 people. There's rumours of BW3 coming next year...not much other word on it otherwise. |
