Ironing a vest?
 

Today I received a vest in the mail that is completely my style. Im so happy with it its unbelievable.

However;

It was sent in an envelope wrapped into a ball in saran wrap - not that I have a problem with this at all however it created other issues which I would like to solve.

The pockets & pouches on it are pretty wrinkly and folded to shit out of shape!

Im wearing it as I type this and have mags in the pouches where they will fit - but theres a few big pouches that I can't fit anything I have in.

Is it safe to iron this vest? I know the first question will probably be what material it is but I really can't tell as its not listed on the vest itself.

Use a steamer

My suggestion is that it is not necessary, or even desirable, to iron the vest. If your only concern is that the pouches are wrinkled due to the packing all you have to do is to put some mags, or other material, into the pouches and they will smooth out in awhile.

Ironing the vest may actually damage the vest if you set the heat too high and damage the fabric.

Don't. Just put what you gotta put in the pouches, and get it on the field.

or try hanging it in the bathroom with you while you take a hot shower. Just don't wear it while showering. :)

OMG are your serious iron your vest? Did you have a skateboard? Were you scared to scratch your trucks?

dude calm down the issue has been resolved.

but as conker said fill it up and get it going, eventually your pouches and stuff will take the shape of whatever you put into it. your mag pouches will flatted out and form, so will the larger ones.... but if you really wanna stretch/form/de wrinkle the pouches, take a cardboard box and cut it then fold it to fit the pouches

If you don't have anything to stuff it stuff it with plastic bags or socks or shirts or rags/anything...

and it was the grip tape i didnt like to get dirty or chunks missing just so we're clear :)

All the creases will come out if you just keep mags in the mag pouches and wear the vest

as a man who used work at a dry cleaners, the material cannot be ironed or steamed because there is a chance it would melt under high heat. My suggestion to you is to hand wash it and throw it in the dryer at a low heat to get rid of most of the wrinkles. Even then, it's okay to have wrinkles on a vest because its not like you're wearing it to a prom or something

stuff the vest up then hang it in your bathroom while you take a hot shower.
the steam will help soften up the fabric while ur stuff will stretch out the creases.

Now it's prom ready :)
