What do the member things under a persons name represent? And how do you become one?

Its a tag users receive when they donate to the website. Donations go towards offsetting the costs of running ASC and pay for the staffs private beer fund.

The varying colors of tags correspond to the varying amounts that people donate.

Site Supporter
Donate $10 to $24.99 and become a site supporter. This gives you access to the trash (posting too), a larger inbox and a fancy user bar.

Silver Member
Donate $25.00 to $49.99 and become a Silver Member. Lasts for 1 year

Gold Member
Donate $50.00 to $99.99 and become a Gold Member. Lasts for 1 year.

Platinum Member
Donate $100.00 or more and become a platinum member

To become a donating member, simply access the paid subscritions tab under your User CP settings.
