Wanting to Get Age Verified

i want to get age verified i live in nova scotia in Annapolis county and i dont get in to the city alot at least once every year and a half is there another way i can do it???

Strelok August 26th, 2010 10:25

Not really, you have to go meet the verifier. Might be a chance he'll come up to your area. Might be a chance he doesn't.

m102404 August 26th, 2010 10:28

Nope...many people have asked about faxing/calling/etc this, that and whatever in...but it's got to be face to face with one of the verifiers. No ifs, ands, buts, or maybes.

* note *
Year after year, quite often after hearing this guys in your predicament will go off on a rant about how stupid, silly, limiting, etc...the current system is. Go ahead and rant...but it hasn't changed in years and won't for the foreseeable future.

Yes it would be nice, however there are not ALOT of players in NS to begin with.

The question I always ask people in your situation, are you going to be a Player? or a Collector? Because if you intend to attend games, you are going to have to drive to them anyways, best to make the drive to a game, meet the players, get age verified, and go from there.

I will be in Annapolis County Sept - 3- 9 Staying at smith's Cove just outside of Digby

maybe we can meet up...

The thing is, for the collectors, thats not so much of a point, as they wont be travelling far to play games.

I've driven farther than where you live to AV someone before, we could probably work something out.

The flip side to my point for collectors, is you have to understand AV reps arent employees of ASC, its all Voluntary, for them they just have to make the drive once.

My point was for all those wanna be players who whine and complain their are no av reps in the middle of nowhere, of course not ,the reps are going to be at the games, unless the collector makes arrangements at a reps convinience, going to a game that a AV Rep is attending is the simplest way.

if money's tight, then airsoft isn't for you...

you're working on getting a car but have you factored in gas, insurance and maintenance?

Actually, you can't have a car if you don't have insurance, so you can scratch that idea. It is illegal in canada to have a vehicle without insurance -- even if it's just sitting in yoru driveway doing nothing it must have a plate and be insured.

Also, this is airsoft... if you can't get to the AV'er how are you going to get to the FIELDS? You go into town once or twice a year, which mean you will play what, every fourth time you're in town if it happens to be the right day?

Buy a cheap car, 500-1000, you'll pay easily that much or double for insurance a year. So you've now spent $3000 and want to go play airsoft... Welcome to $400 for your gun, $50-150 for your outfit, $30-150 for your vest, $50-100 for magazines, $30 for a sling, $10 per game for BB's and $10-40 a game for field fees... Then you need to pay for gas.

It's a process and takes time, just like everything else. People are impatient and want to rush into things... Get your car, or start airsoft. Figure out which one has the HIGHER priority, and then do them in order.

Brian McIlmoyle August 26th, 2010 14:40

WTF-- the guy just wants to be age verified... he did not ask for a financial consultation.

Those are all valid points, however there's a few things that are different in NS.

-There are no field fees currently at Nova Scotia Airsoft games at this time
-Our fields are nowhere near the city, i think he's closer to the field than the city
-BB's are ridiculously cheap here ;) $15/2500-3000 depending on weight.
