cqb primary kjw kp06 vs tm hi capa 5.1

Hey Guys,

Ive been doing a lot of research and I have read many reviews about both guns. Has anyone had the chance to use both? Either way, which would you choose and why? I run pistol primary for cqb only. Just have experience with g19 glock and tf11.

I have the tf11 to spray, just want something with more accuracy as well.

Im leaning towards the kp06 because it seems like it needs nothing. Any thoughts or inputs would be much appreciated.

Cheers

the TM needs nothing too, unless you need a metal slide to be able to hit your targets ;)

TM Hicappa 5.1's are great pistols and the only one I've had experience with. I'd say Hicappa.

its hard to tell from video reviews---but i was thinking the kp06 would have better accuracy due to a longer barrel? or are they pretty much the same in terms of accuracy?

thanks for the quick responses guys =D

In my opinion if you are using this for CQB only...you probably won't see much of a difference in accuracy in either.

Since the KJW is a 6" barrel versus a 5" (or 5.1", whatever) there will be an increase in FPS, just FYI.

Strelok August 25th, 2010 03:39

Yeah, just an FPS increase.

However, if its accuracy you're after. The gun itself is TM, which speaks a lot for itself with those two letters. TM guns have always been accurate stock as they really focus on producing quality guns. KJW are TM clones, but QC is off and alien to the extent that TM goes.

Just for the sake of "Bang for your buck", go with the TM, you have a rediculous amount of options to choose from in regards to upgrades, both internal and external. And the ability to make it all so much more accurate as you desire.

Clones may be clones, but that also makes them far from perfect.

See the two above quotes. There's your answer.

I have both guns, much experience with the TM hicappas, and i picked up a KJW 6" a while back, and im truly amazed with the quality at that price point, its no competition gun, but it functions great, has a good feel to it, and is quite accurate
its better than a stock TM, but worse than an upgraded TM, but for hte price you pay, CHEAPER than a stock TM, you cant lose,

juicy August 25th, 2010 13:23

Explain "better" a little better, will you? My experience says that the KJW mags are junk, and that the hop up/barrel combination that KJW gives you isn't quite up to par with the consistency/accuracy that a stock TM 5.1 can give you.

Thenooblord August 25th, 2010 13:41

well i replaced the mag right away cause its CO2 and i have 8 TM mags already, but the accuracy is consistent and the range is good, i was using it at defcon indoor a while back and when somebody would pop out their mask or an arm or anything i could usually tag them out past 70 feet with it, even up to 100 feet, the overall range is probably 120-140 feet though, but the accuracy drops off that far out

its got a better grip than the TM hicappa, much more comfortable, its got a magwell, adjustable trigger, and fiber optic sights, extended slide catch, all of which would run a small fortune if bought separatley, slide to frame fit is loose, but inner barrel/outer barrel/slide fit is satisfactory, and equal to TM, so accuracy is good, the hopup is also good compared to my KJW glocks and even the old KJW hicappas

this is the ONLY KJW pistol I would reccomend however, all my other experience with their pistols has been negative

juicy August 25th, 2010 13:48

Ah, grip and sights are lovely, true that. IDK about the rest of those things though...

Thenooblord August 25th, 2010 14:03

well Im saying this as somebody who has a $1200 custom hicappa and prefers the KJW because its still good but its cheap so i can bash it around...

tokyo marui should pay most of these forums users

pewpew August 25th, 2010 14:29

thank you very much for the input guys, maybe i might just get the kjw to start then tm to upgrade. or start with just the tm and upgrade when needed......:banghead:
