I put an M140 spring in my gun now it doesn't work help

alright i have an JG M16a3 advanced version that i bought from airsoft megastore and i put in an m140 spring in it and now the fuse blows when i try to shoot. can i just bypass the fuse and not have to worry about anything overheating or do i need to get new gears or a new motor or what? i dont really know what im doin here so i could really use some help.

You could but you have to be careful because the gun is pulling a lot more current to try and pull such a heavy spring. You could get torque-up gears to help. JG stock motors are actually very strong.

Get a bigger battery. That's your problem. Use a large 8.4v AT A MINIMUM.

How about you put something more reasonable in there, like an M110 or M120 spring?

You can't just put an M140 spring in a stock gun and expect there won't be any problems.

Take it apart and see if anything is broken or installed improperly. Maybe the gears are stuck.

Yep, more information, such as battery and other internal upgrades, would help.
Also, are you located outside of Canada?

it's an M140...in a JG...ur gonna need:

new gears (torque up), bigger battery (wouldn't settle for anything less than a 9.6v large type-3600mAh or more), probs a new motor depending on how good ur JG one is but id say go for a super torque motor, new cyllinderhead (reinforced double o-ring), new pistonhead (probs aluminium), Sorbo kit for the pistonhead and cyllinderhead - trust me u'll want to be using as much shock absorbtion as u can with that spring, u'll need a new piston as well as the stock JG one will get shredded almost instantly (i'd go for a metal or a reinforced tooth piston if u want it to last more than a wee while), I'd also shell out for a set of bearings to replace whatever bushings u have in there. being JG it's probs a 6mm bushing setup so I'm also gonna say that u more than likely want to upgrade ur mechbox itself. If u don't i wouldn't give the gun long to live although it could be fine - with JG u just don't know - I've seen them be bombproof and I've seen them disintegrate with an M120 in 'em as well so it's up to u bud.

In short u'd honestly be better just sticking to the spring it has or simply buying a custom high performance gearbox designed to take the strain

now as I say not all of these upgrades are necesary but i wouldn't give the gun 1 game before it dies without alot of those upgrades. - larger battery should fix ur current problem but be aware that the strain on ur mechbox is gonna be pretty huge for a stock JG so don't expect it to last long ;D

I don't recommend it. Reality is if you want to bypass your fuse you should replace the entire section of wire. I have no idea what battery you are running but a 9.6 is recommended minimum. You don't need new guts in your JG. The JG gearbox is good enough for M150. Depending on how old etc your JG box is their where problems with bad shimming and tolerances. Later JG products are great. Look into reshimming/relubing your box could be ridiculously overshimmed but i doubt it.

Torque gears or motor would be helpful.

But you can brute force it with your current motor and battery...but that would not be smart.

As for the Battery you don't need "mah". You need low IR/High Dump capability. There are very good NIMH packs where the mah is around 1500mah, but the IR is 3 mOhms versus a low end 3600mah SubC pack with an IR of ~15 mOhms.

And as long as your gearbox has good compression, you don't need anything else.

De-stress your gear box by radiusing it. And if your not mechanically inclined...get someone else to do it for you.

Because if you don't, it will look just like this KWA mechbox with a M140 in it. Stress fracture and imminent shear of the front of the V2 mechbox.
