Ssshh don't tell them it's airsoft

I find that most real firearm owners seem to have a hate on for airsoft. Hell, don't even mention airsoft on CGN! I find that weird since we are having the same sort of fight for airsoft that they are having for their real guns. They'll talk about realistic, full auto, pellet guns but yet airsoft is a real no-no.

Well I think I've broken the ice with my King Arms M203! You cannot purchase a real 40mm M203. The closest is a Spike's Tactical Launcher in 37mm and it costs $500 plus taxes. Then the only thing you really can shoot are 12 gauge bear bangers and flares if you bought the 12 gauge adapter. You can reload practice grenades but that requires a special license.

So I picked up an airsoft M203, Madbull XMHP4 shell, Madpull CO2 adapter, and some practice golf balls and mounted the M203 to my Bushmaster XM15-E2S (real steel). I've been simply calling the M203 "C02 Powered" instead of "airsoft" and people have been pretty interested to say the least.

I've had the thing out on the range already and had more than a couple strangers come up and want to try it. I've posted pictures of the setup on CGN and even have people in Alberta threaten to come over for a visit just to try it.

Now if I could just shoot an airsoft rifle for as cheap as my .22 then I'd start converting plinkers over to that too :D

so when are you going to tell them that CO2 powered is really airsoft/paintball? :D

I mentioned airsoft once at a gun range I go to, the reaction was so negative I've never brought it up again since. Seems the people there at the time perceived airsoft as a threat to firearms owners in that when used in commission of crimes it brings negative connotation to firearms in general.

I wouldn't go that far just yet until a GBBR shoots 1" groupings at 100 yards :D

Gun owners HATE airsoft because they say we should get a real gun. I wonder why they don't say the same with paintball?

It's a north american sport (paintball) and airsoft is known to be a pussy plastic bb game that doesn't hurt.

That's what they all say until I shoot them(with their permission of course) and leave them with a big bruise for a couple of days.

Some of the gun nuts that I've talked to hate paintball just as much as airsoft. They kind of lump us into 1 group of "gun owner wannabees"

Just upgrade the shit out of it, and used red gas/co2 for the GBBR. I've seen people upgrade them up to 700 fps. You can also use metal 6mm bbs for extra impact.

OR!

You can wait for this AEG to come out

I dont think an airsoft to date even upgraded is going to be able to do MOA, considering most hunting rifles do MOA and precision will be able to easily do sub MOA.

just tell them that you can shoot moving human targets over and over again!

just tell them its a paintball gun and they will love it and want one. And tell them you are using plastic balls so it won't leave paint everywhere.
