Permanently painting my USP to black

I have a KSC USP with green frame, however because I don't want green, I'm considering painting it black.

I want to change it to black permanently, but I've called Uncompany and they said that no matter what I do, it will come off eventually with wear and extended use.

Is that true? Or if anyone has any experience or know-hows to painting the frame black, please contribute

Thanks

Paint eventually wears off whatever you apply it to, this happens with almost anything. I suspect that if you were to apply some sort of protective coating over the paint it would make it last but thats just speculation.

honestly I would put it up for trade green one is bit rare.
At any cases, if you really want to paint, trade for a cansoft one + money then paint it.

Or just sand a bit the green one, put a decent primer, and thin coats of krylon and finally, flat clear coat.

It will hold to alot of abuse.

A couple months ago someone mentioned a plastic dye available out there, think the reference was how to make a clear/smoked frame permanently black, and someone had posted this stuff that literally sinks into the plastic and makes it permanent, something paint can't do. Maybe search plastic dyes and see what comes up?

Don't paint the green black :(

Green frame USP's are fairly rare while black frame are a dime a dozen!!

Post a wanted ad for a black USP frame!

It willl penetrate and dye the plastic to an opaque flat black finish that won't come off or feel any diferent than the original plastic. Been doing this to my guns or after mods to the plastic for years and it lasts forever. Krylon is good if you have to paint but it will never be as durable or natural as a vinyl dye.

I'm gonna give this a try on my smoked receiver.

+1 for duplicolor vinyl dye. I WISH I could find VHT..softys was the only place that ever had it.

That's only for plastic though...dont try it on metal.
