Music Morale booster?
I kept thinking about this idea of sticking speakers and plugging in my MP3 and blasting Morale boosting music. It doesn't sound practical but I want to try it because it just sounds so cool with music in the background!
YouTube- Richard Wagner - Ride Of The Valkyries |
Works if you are in a German made tank but I doubt that you are.
|
Just listen to Edith Piaf and you'll simply cream your pants with the emotions conveyed in her voice, even if you don't speak french.
Either that, or listen to Toccata and Fugue in conjunction with that Wagner piece.... |
Feel free to blast it, so I will know that your attack is comming and know where to shoot.
Seriously, I once considering implimenting some PsyOps componement to mission, where sound and speachs are blasted toward the ennemy. That would be good if you could lure them into well positionned ambush just by playing sound of beer bottle openning and people having free rounds. |
why don't you try listen to some rocky! =)
|
I do have a playlist containing few songs that I listen when I play.
Awesome, no other word for it. |

There's been a lot of research about the effects of music on the mind, music and emotions in the past few years. The best-seller "This is your brain on Music" by D.J. Levitin has some pretty good concepts on that subject. It's light, easy to read, although it has some neuroscience mistakes, but the author is more a musician than anything else in my point of view. Easily found in libraries.
I remember a thread in another forum that was "your favourite ride theme", as in what song do paramedics play on the ambulance when driving to an intervention. You'd be surprised what people put up hehe. One research showed that classical music helps with concentration (focus) when studying. Even classical music played in the background of a teacher addressing students showed that students were more attentive. Edit: Book title. |
So the obsession with Wagner did have a purpose.
|
Why do you think Scottish pipers marched up and down the trenches while playing during WWI. Obviously music is capable of inspiration.
|
If the show combat school is correct then they use heavy metal to demoralize enemy forces in villages before they enter.

Yes some Operations employed Psy Ops in that way an yes they played metal, etc as the Insurgents(an locals) don't like this kind of music. Plus it pumped up the troops. |
If we reverse the rolls, the insurgents would beseige our city by playing Dirka dirka and jihad music all night long. While we whine and cry, they dance and pray Allah.
Hahaha |
Legion by Junkie XL
Recording of the NZ All Blacks doing the Haka. Fett's Vette by MC Chris Bring Da Ruckus by The Wu-Tang Clan Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes Can't go wrong with these pumping through your iPod just before a game. Wagner is just so effing cliche (and Hitler's favorite composer, so obviously not party people). |
Or if you really want to fuck with peoples minds.... Play Barbie Girl by Aqua on loud speakers, or some other absolutely annoying but oddly catchy tune that makes you want to dig out your ear drums with a rusty fork.

Unless YOU like Barbye Girl. |
I used this song for background during my "Mogadishu Themed" mini-series of games.....
YouTube- Sami Yusuf Who is the loved one (English-Turkish) www.dikab.com During some of our local games at Bigfootgames, I play stuff like this through the p/a sytem that Bigfoot games has throughout the field. YouTube- Rainbow Six Soundtrack YouTube- Black Hawk Down soundtrack Mp3 players and limewire makes this possible,,lol |
Music = Distraction = Reduced Situational Awareness = Death
Well, not that many players use situational awareness to their advantage in the first place. :P Listening to an unsuspecting target walking into my line of fire is music enough to my ears. Happy hunting. |
When I need a morale boost I just PWN MOAR!!
|
Here's a video a friend of mine did on the subject, observe the various effects different tunes have on their morale:
YouTube- Musical Convoy |
anything metal! it was my way to get pumped before speedball games! i always play as front player... and it still a good way for airsoft im a kind of kamikaze shock trooper im always one of the first to get hit and i always take 3-4-5 with me :P
|
Music Morale booster?
Purple haze ;)
I love the smell of napalm in the morning! |
Holy Necro post Batman!
But on the subject I always listen to "Rooster" by Alice in Chains on my way to a game. lol get's me pumped up.. Oddly though that's not where I came up with my username... |
Metal works quite well.
Especially the song "Lies Lies Lies" by Ministry, anyone who's seen Battle for Haditha will know what I mean. |
Playing the jaw harp on the feild will bring joy to your side and a serious WTF the the other side.
I'll try that next game. |
Fuck that, bust out the didgeridoo!
|
This is the most retarded idea I have ever heard. In all seriousness, playing music during a game just doesn't work. Two ways I've seen it done;
A) MP3 player and headphones: Running around with music blasting in your ears, it's pretty hard to hear anyone coming up behind you. I remember this one fellow who I was able to walk right up behind and mercy because he had the music cranked. Later in the day, after doing nothing but getting whacked by other players constantly, he was complaining about "cheaters"....oh bother. B) Attach speakers to you w/ mp3 player: So you've got your angry white man music blasting out loud, and you're having a great time. Unfortunately you are broadcasting your exact location to everyone else. In short, if you want to listen to music while playing airsoft, then the sport might not be for you. Try hitting up some paintball fields that host speedball tournys. |
run around with a banjo as your secondary.

There's better things to do on an airsoft field, like say playing airsoft. |

|

and some Disturbed Indestructible well that is my suggestions |
mmm, motley crew - kickstart my heart
|
I made up a soundtrack to play over the loudspeakers at my night games, basicly a mix of video game intro's ( rainbow series ) with over lapping backgrounds of machine gun fire, arty drops, tanks, choppers, planes, and some middle eastern music mixed in and all rolled into one! Sounds awesome when your skulking through the bush!
I'm making a small demo of my 28 minute soundtrack! Stay tuned...and I hope it starts some ideas for your own fields of plaY |

‪Gustav Holst - The Planets - Mars, the Bringer of War‬‏ - YouTube
Does this give anyone else the urge to invade Poland? I'm a classical musician btw =P |
i think that music would be great if your listening to it in a vehicle in a game, but in those real chaotic moments you got to go with some thing like beyond the sea or like someone mentioned earlier Edith Piaf, especialy non rien de rien.

Wagner: Ride of the valkiries always a good choice prior to a charge
|
Kaskade for me, ahaha
|
Megadeth and Metallica can keep me pumped up for hours after breif periods of listening to them.
I suppose having your team listening to modivating music for a straight half hour right before start may have them pumped and ready to go with more enthusiasm then normal, but while you are playing, you can not hear anyone creeping up on you, plus the music may sidetrack you if you are like me and get sucked into the song. I too am a musician, or what I like to call one :) |
For me some good TBDM works well,
The Black Dahlia Murder "What A Horrible Night To Have A Curse" (OFFICIAL VIDEO) - YouTube |
I have found the ultimate music for a russia team player. Arkona's "K Domu Svaroga"
Arkona - K Domu Svaroga - YouTube I can't understand a word said in it, but it has an awesome and very different sound to it. (sorry if the translation is a bit off) Если это не металл, это дерьмо! |
Some people here apparently tried a frontal assault with Nyancat playing on their Iphones. I wasn't there, but apparently it was quite something.
|
Would love to play music while I am playing airsoft but I'd rather not get shot.
|
I play either CCR or Austrian Death Machine in the battle van. Next time will be Hatebreed though.
|
Yanni, no doubt about it.
