ASC mobile?
 

It's been mentioned that there is a mobile version of the site for iPhones etc. Anyone know how to enable this?

It works fine on my iTouch the way it is. What issues are you having?

I use it on my BB Storm; occasionally a page loads only the first post, and actually posting is slow, but otherwise it's fine.

Hmnn on the iTouch/iPhone i found it easy to browse.

What kind of browser comes with BB? Do they have options? I recall last phone having options to make it easier to browse since it didn't use a 'full' browser.

Got to your browser settings and change it to column view. Makes EVERYTHING on my BB Bold easier to read at a distance.

I used to use it with my Curve, but since I lost images (and the all important AV tag) I switched back to the regular version with tables off.

With my Tour I just use the regular version

I have it on my BB, I just initially accessed it via Google then bookmarked it. Bit of a pain to get around here, but am able to if need be.

Ah, ok. My biggest peeve is having to scroll down through all the menus above just to get to the forums, or the threads, etc. Is why I try to avoid looking stuff up on my BB, I just use my work PC or personal laptop(s).

has anyone found a way to stop doing the ASC warp? My samsung omnia loves to warp me up to the top left corner or randomly down to someones name. I think its trying to *find the last post* but fuck its annoying.

the bottom bar of any page will have a style menu. select mobile for a text only version.

I use it on my HTC to conserve bandwidth. I sometimes use it on my iTouch as it loads much faster

if you click that link by accident on a PC, just log out and it will clear the style ID and revert to normal/default

you can change to the mobile version anytime from the style menu at the very bottom of any page.

Hey, I just did that and it worked, loaded up lickity split too! Instead of the 'Boring Blue' I selected mobile and bang, done!

I hate waiting for the full ASC page to load on my smartphone or iTouch plus navigating is a pain with everything so small.

I do wish there was a feature to create a page that only loads frequently viewed forums or preferred forums rather than all of them for when I'm browsing on my phone.

Sorry to necro this, but is there anyway to disable this piece of shit fucking mobile bullshit? It sucks on an iPad, and until today I was able to get the full version, not this mobile useless horseshit.

I didn't click any pop up and still have this ugly crap. Changing styleid does nothing and no options anywhere to go back.

ASC is a part of the tapatalk network so just download the app (its free). The app makes everything so much better and will also sort things out for you.

Not only that but you can access many forums through this app so it multi functions for you if needs be

The tapatalk app is great. Keeps my data usage down and loads extremely fast compared to using safari or opera.

One thing though, the tapatalk plugin needs to be updated.

Those who clicked the mobile ....check that. Just realized ASC is defaulting to the mobile screen automatically. You use to be able to log out, clear your history and load the full page.

Must have been part of a recent upgrade.

I personally don't like tapatalk never have so that's a no go. All I want is the full site as it is no apps no textonly junk. Cleared cache/cookies, logged out, changed styleid notta so I'll wait an see if it's just a glitch with updates or maintenance they are doing.

Which version? Free or paid? The free version won't let you post, I believe, and only allows you to read all content your user access permits.

Run the app and find the search tab then search for Airsoft Canada. Once you open ASC, simply log on and browse the forums.

The first page that opens is the current unread 'new posts' that you haven't viewed yet. At the bottom you can change to the forums tab to go directly to the sub forum you want.

PM tab is for your PM's. Note, it auto saves outgoing messages so if you max out your inbox, check you saved folder.

In the 'More' tab, you can customize the bottom bar to show your preferred tabs. In it you can also do site wide searching and a bunch of other stuff.

If you log out of ASC, there's a settings tab which you can customize the way tapatalk is viewed. ie, 20 posts per page, different page view styles, view avatars and pictures etc...

i am also stuck with the mobile version of ASC on my iad. I don't see any options in user CP or elsewhere to change back...help?

I have a feeling it's an automated feature that ASC is detecting that you are on a mobile device and is forcing the mobile layout as default. The only way to disable it before was to log out but that doesn't work now.

@ bottom via style menu, where its default boring blue, im on asc mobile right now... its just a less detailed version of asc thats quicker and easier to load...

been suggested by a noob. some tried and it died.

I'm not sure everyone with a BBM wants to be involved or get bombarded with messages from people on ASC outside of ASC. I don't really see any point. It's posted here. You can read and reply to it here. It would duplicate messages and topics.

On my Torch... I just tried to use the mobile feature. It wouldn't let me go back to the regular version (no option) so I logged out, it cleared the cookies, and I went to a different site, back to ASC and logged back in with the regular site. Maybe this helps?

I don't understand what people are complaining about? Runs great on the iPhone. It ran fine (slowly), on my shitty old LG phone, too. Are there sizing issues?

The problem is
A: there is no choice anymore it's forcing the mobile version
B: the mobile version is text only and lacks well everything and the full site ran just fine on iOS devices before.
C: mobile version is just ugly.

I have no need to save bandwidth if I did I may choose to use this text only thing but I don't so I like to see full websites.

Been using Tapatalk from day one, works pretry well. On iphone.

i agree, i'm an ipad user and I hate asc mobile. For those who don't understand, put asc mobile on your computer and you'll see why. If it can be fixed, I think all ipad users will be happy with it.

This mobile layout is horrendous on my phone - its not a 'smart phone'... it cant handle it!

I was certainly happier with the "boring blue" on my phone.

Hm I was wondering why it reverted to a mobile version.. me don't like, my blackberry doesn't like either.

I set my blackberry browser to appear as a a desktop browser, I bypass all mobiles site.

How in god's name do I turn it off...I can't access the classifieds, and have to go through way too many links to get to pm's.

mobile layout is garbage, especially if you just want to glance at the newest topics in each board. Should give people the option of mobile or full layout... ASC always worked flawlessly on my iPhone 4...

My pain is exclusively with the iPad. Hands down, it sucks.

Odd. I can see and access everything in safari and opera mini on my 3GS.

everything's fine on my 3 yo Curve 8330! sometimes a bit long to load but nothing too excessive.

really? i have a mobile version with three links, forum, new posts and user cp. I miss the full version... took like fifteen seconds to load before.... mobile takes just as long and i cant access a thread through the forums by browsing, i have to specifically search for it... is this because of the vbulletin update? or is it something temporary that they are fixing...

My blackberry brings up all the links on the homepage in one solid line across the screen. If i could take a photo I would. Just a page of blue letters.

I started a new thread, didn't see this one, also pissed as hell, I want my old ASC back, not this piece of crap, and I HATE talkapat, bought the pro version last night and still hate it. When opening email notifications it won't open in talkapat but in the web browser, back in that piece of crap mobile mode.

These mobile sites were fine in the early 2000 when phones were just phones with little web features, but now phones are full computer more than able to support a full site.

Also support the classic view rather than the mobile version.

The ASC moderator should have seen this already. Please take action to offer us a choice !

Worst case scenario you can buy Skyfire. It has the option to view any page as a desktop as well as pretty cool Flash video feture.

Huh. Just noticed this mobile view has no ads on it from the asc paying venders. I bet they'll not like that.

I just went in my phone options and disable the automatic mobile version for websites.
Now everything is fine. Im on my phone right now. Everything is like the good'ol ASC.
