Looking to make the most powerful TM G26

well, you all likely saw my last build, and i think it turned out VERY well. but, i sold the gun, and and now on to the next toy.

gun is a TM G26 with the following additions......

already installed:

KM TBB
Metal Valve Bulb

parts on their way:

Guarder enhanced Recoil spring
Guarder Enhanced Hammer spring
Guarder Steel Recoil Guide Rod
Guarder High Output Valve for Marui GLOCK
Guarder Steel Trigger Lever for MARUI GLOCK
Guarder Steel Magazine Catch for Marui G26
King Arms Air Seal Chamber for Marui GBB Pisto
Firefly Rocket Valve and Piston Head Set for Marui
MAG Replacement Spring Set for Marui GLOCK Series GBB

and finally, if i can ever find one, i will have a STEEL SLIDE on this sucker!

BUT, i will use the ABS until i break it, and see where i am from there. i have a lead on a STEEL slide that MAY be able to get me 2 actually, so we shall see.

so, what else can i throw at this thing for POWER? any and all thoughts and tips are appreciated.

thanks in advance.

pic 4 clicks......

Replace most of that guarder stuff with Shooter's Design, Airsoft Surgeon, PDI and Firefly parts...

You'll have a much better pistol if you do... Guarder parts are on the lowest end up the upgrade scale IMO.

A steel slide is not a good idea, It'll be very sluggish and use ALOT of gas each shot.

If you want hard hitting recoil look into a lightweight aluminum slide (Shooter's Design or Airsoft Surgeon)

MikeMcNair August 21st, 2009 09:43

crap, already ordered the stuff :(

i may just have to go to an aluminum slide, as the steel ones are so hard to find!

i have a lead on one, and if i can get it i will, but if not i will go alum.

i can't seem to find a PDI TBB for this one. weird.......

MikeMcNair August 21st, 2009 15:58

anyone know if PDI makes a TBB for this turkey?

MikeMcNair August 24th, 2009 12:42

ok, noting from PDI, but i contacted EDGI, let's see if there is anythign they can do for me.

also, metal slide of any material, not possible to find!!!! i am pissed.

so, i bought a KJW G27, and will use the metal slide and mag from that, use the TM grip (cause it has the proper trades for the most part) and use all the upgraded parts.

then, i will be selling the KJW if anyone wants dibs, it will NEVER be fires, and will have plastic slide and Magazine.

Won't make it across the border. :(

MikeMcNair August 25th, 2009 08:15

really? what if i sell it in pieces? and ship at different times? can parts make it over?

MikeMcNair August 26th, 2009 11:34

parts are starting to arrive, pix will be posted soon :)

MikeMcNair September 2nd, 2009 10:00

FINALLY AN UPDATE!!!!

i have all the good in hand, and will install them shortly. i bought a KJW G27 for the metal slide and barrel since the TM ones are impossible to find.

here is the pic of the goodies that came today... :)

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...r/FunParts.jpg

current list:
  • KM TBB
  • Metal Valve Bulb
  • Guarder enhanced Recoil spring
  • Guarder Enhanced Hammer spring
  • Guarder Steel Recoil Guide Rod
  • Guarder High Output Valve for Marui GLOCK
  • Guarder Steel Trigger Lever for MARUI GLOCK
  • Guarder Steel Magazine Catch for Marui G26
  • King Arms Air Seal Chamber for Marui GBB Pisto
  • Firefly Rocket Valve and Piston Head Set for Marui
  • Metal Magazine Extension
  • Metal Rear Sight
  • BRAND NEW internals (every single part and spring)

if anyone has any other suggestions of what to get, please let me know. i feel like i have everything made for the gun, but i am sure i am missing something.

also, i live in the US, so i cannot get age verified (even though i am 30) so if anyone has a chance to look in the classifieds for a STEEL slide and barrel, i will gladly pay a finders fee!!!!

MikeMcNair September 2nd, 2009 10:31

quick question.... how does one get part 29 off the recoil spring rod?

(part 29 OFF of Part 24?) i would like to use part 25 with the GUARDER recoil spring guide.

http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j1...s/00bc45ed.jpg

MikeMcNair September 3rd, 2009 09:44

well, got all my parrts in, and sure enough, it doesnt fire. i think i put the firing pin in incorrectly, likely an easy fix.

also, the king arms air seal chamber, yeah, it seems to be too tight (inside diameter) for a pellet to go through. anyone have any thoughts?

MikeMcNair September 4th, 2009 09:54

ok, got her firing. the stiker pin that hits the valve on the magazine was loose some how.

this thing shoots pretty well, the King Arms Air Seal Chamber helps a TON.

i need to find a 6.01 inner barrel for it if anyone knows of any. smallest i can find is 6.03, and i think that is hindering me.

any other things i can do for more power, feel free to let me know. i am open to suggestion.

also, will post a video tonight. :)

Jimski September 4th, 2009 10:17

hello Mike, you are crazy :)

if at any point you need hop-up rubber, PM me, I'v got some spares ;)

MikeMcNair September 4th, 2009 10:19

thanks bro, i am using the King Arms Air Seal Chamber (the red one) and it made a HUGE difference!!!

check this out.........

YouTube - Air seal chamber

Long_Bong September 4th, 2009 10:22

Curious to see the fps on that GBB :)

MikeMcNair September 4th, 2009 10:33

me too, but i can tell you already, it is no where near as powerful as my KSC. the KSC was a hand cannon, and would rip through both sides of a can, the bottom, flesh, it was insane!!!

this, is mych more accurate of a shot, but isnt as strong.

one interesting thing tho: the slide on the KSC had some play, like, if i shook the gun hard, you could hear the slide "wiggle". the TM with the KJW metal slide, no wiggle at all. this is a definate bonus in my eyes. but, i am already thinking about building another KSC, cause it was heavier, more powerful, and a little newer looking (looks like the newest series of glocks, the TM seems to have been modeled after an earlier glock.)

MikeMcNair September 8th, 2009 14:55

MikeMcNair September 14th, 2009 11:48

update:

found a GLOCK RS "clipdraw" and had to order it. it just looks bad ass, and is functional too. also picked up a SILVERBACK grip laser system for this thing, just for kicks. i wanna see if i can make it accurate withing ~ 50 feet. that would be bad ass! and since i am not playing in a field or with others in any way, i don't mind having the laser.

pix to follow once the parts come in.

MikeMcNair September 16th, 2009 09:23

Got the clipdraw today, and I will have drill the back of the TM to make it fit cause unlike the ksc, the rear plate on the TM is part of the blowback unit. Shucks!

but, drilled and fitted, and i LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! this thing is awesome!!!

more good news!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally have located a seller that is willing to part with his STEEL SLIDE!!!!!!!!!! talk about being STOKED!!! sure, it's costing me eleventeen million dollars, btu who cares!!!

cant wait to have this bad boy all steel!!!

RacingManiac September 16th, 2009 10:55

Any numbers actually? I definitely have not put in all that stuff in my G26, nor have I found wants to do so(PGC Alu slide, upgraded recoil/hammer spring, KM TBB), and the thing shoots ~280-290fps with pretty amazing accuracy out of the dinky little barrel that it has(especially dinky since I am more of a 1911/2011 guy). Wouldn't mind knowing how far you can push one of these....

MikeMcNair September 16th, 2009 11:41

i have not chrono'd yet, but i will sometime soon. it is still baffling me though, and perhaps one of you can explain this to me...

my KSC G26 would draw blood if shot within 5 yards, yet had no range and was no where near as accurate as the TM.

now, shoot someone with the TM, and it barely leaves a mark. but it can fire significantly long distances, and is dead on every shot.

why would this be?

Flowstone September 16th, 2009 11:54

Sounds like the TM is just making a better use of its energy (more stable shot) eventhough its not really putting that much force into the shot as the ksc, which is probably firing from a "looser" barrel and resulting in a less stable shot, which would make it more susceptible to wind resistance and nerf its range. the accuracy thing is just another side effect of loose parts in the ksc.

Sounds like the TM is a "Tighter" gun and eventhough it doesn't pack the same punch, throws them more effectively regardless.

RacingManiac September 16th, 2009 12:26

Hop-Up, KSC's hop is iffy at best, my old KSC Glock 19 is a much more powerful gun, but the accuracy was not there, when I had a TM G26 at the same time the G26 was a much more accurate gun. Most of my KSC Gas gun is about the same...their new MP7 though is different somehow, That thing can put 3 shot in a single hole at 10m without much effort...

MikeMcNair September 16th, 2009 12:44

i agree about the hopup, the TM is far superior.

also, the KSC had a PDI 6.01 TBB, this TM has a TBB, but i think it's 6.03, i honestly dont know (came with the gun)

does anyone know where to get a PDI for the TM G26?

RacingManiac September 16th, 2009 13:21

The G26 has the first gen TM GBB adjustable hop, while the basic is the same as the later one the dimension is slightly different, as a result the newer barrel does not fit the G26(FYI all TM TBB for GBB is interchangable otherwise). I think I tried to look for PDI for my G26 but I think they don't make them anymore...not 100% on that though. Try looking through www.x-fire.org which is PDI's own site...

MikeMcNair September 16th, 2009 13:23

lol, thanks for the link, i was JUST there looking. lol.

if i could find a 73mm PDI for anything, i could mod it to work. they dont seem to have them.

MikeMcNair September 21st, 2009 15:25

update:

the GUARDER STEEL SLIDE is on my doorstep waiting for me to get home and install it!!!

also, x-fire does not offer a PDI for the G26, only the advanced. do you guys think i could cut it down?

has anyone cut a barrel before? if so, is there anything i need to know?

Amos September 21st, 2009 15:37

... I'm not sure if PDI's barrels are coated or not...

Send them an email about cutting down their barrels... I'd also take it to a machine shop and have it properly machined down and re-crowned.

MikeMcNair September 21st, 2009 15:38

good call, i will certainly do that. fortunately i recently mad a friend who has a machine shop, and he can even make me steel slides etc.

he is currently looking intoreproducing the TM plastic slide and barrel in steel for me, and if he pulls it off, i will sell them. surely i am not the only guy left that wanted one.

MikeMcNair September 22nd, 2009 09:22

ok, ordered the PDI 6.01 for the tm g26 advance, and will be cutting it down properly. also, the steel slide is ready to be installed, and dammit it is heavy!!! makes me VERY happy :)

i will post pix next to the real steel tonight.

the question i have is this: should i polish the steel outer barrel or keep it black? i think i should polish it since the guarder recoil spring rod is silver looking on the outer part of the slide (see pix above) so i think it looks out of place unless the barrel is polished as well.

thoughts?

Jimski September 22nd, 2009 09:55

polish+gold plating for the win.

MikeMcNair September 22nd, 2009 10:02

hhhmmm, dont know if i can pull off the gold. while it is HOT, it just seems too "sissy" for a gun. lol

so you think i should polish the barrel like i did here........ (notice the recoil spring rod, i think the polished barrel makes that not look out of place.)

i will heep the "ejection port" part of the barrel black still tho since i don't think it looked right on my KSC (below)

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...r/IMG_1139.jpg

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...r/IMG_1140.jpg

the KSC.... (i think the rectangular part on the top of the gun should remain black, in the pic below, i think it was too much "bling")

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...r/IMG_1073.jpg

Jimski September 22nd, 2009 10:26

lovely.

are you doing this by hand ? do you have a dremel?

MikeMcNair September 22nd, 2009 11:02

i always polish by hand. it takes me 5 minutes, and looks like a million bucks. while i work in pharmaceuticals during the day, i have my own shop building high HP european cars on the side, and i polish as many car parts as possible since 99% of the cars i build are show cars as well. i have gotten quite proficient with polishing.

also, jimsky, per your suggestion, i had a buddy quickly photoshop these........

http://s1.directupload.net/images/090922/py9mc797.jpg

http://s4.directupload.net/images/090922/ox76ijua.jpg

http://s3.directupload.net/images/090922/em8flqew.jpg

http://s7.directupload.net/images/090922/8zfpf7bu.jpg

it actually doesnt look too bad!!! i think if i were to do it, i would leave the serial number plate/safety switch silver in color (notice the pix have it in silver and gold)

thoughts?

MikeMcNair September 22nd, 2009 11:05

here is my process...........

for the polishing, the BEST way to do it is the following (I polish a TON of stuff)

start with 600 grit sand paper and sand til all silver

then use 1000 grit until you cant see any lines, it will take a while.

then use 2000 with WD40 (wetsand) and it will be almost perfectly mirror finish. but, to get the absolute BEST look, get the SOFTEST steel wool you can buy at a hardware store. I mean SOFT.

rub the piss out of it again, but now it wont look as good as the 2000 results, but this is intentional.

then, buy this stuff...... http://www.speedymetalpolish.com/products.html (speedy all metal) and buff the piss out of it. this will make it look like pure fresh chrome!!!

then, if you really want to impress people, get this..... http://www.irinfo.com/polish/assets/...e-single-a.jpg

then, you have the best polished barrel you will have ever seen!!!

MikeMcNair September 23rd, 2009 09:11

ok, steel slide installed, and HOLY CRAP is this thing heavy!!!! i am SHOCKED.

pix will be posted today. it looks as close to the RS as possible, i am very impressed!

MikeMcNair September 23rd, 2009 11:20

STEEL SLIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wooo hooo!!!!!!!!!

hattrick September 23rd, 2009 12:45

Do the TM glock 17 next, you wont be disapointed.

Not a fan of those clips, but looks good none the less.

MikeMcNair September 23rd, 2009 12:47

werd, my issue is that it is HUGE!!! i might go back to a 19 next (has a 23f as my first GBB, size wasnt too bad)

i like the smaller ones since i have the RS G27. just the right size for CCW.

MikeMcNair September 23rd, 2009 13:46

wooo hooo!!!!!!!! guess what came in the mail today!!!!!!!!! here is a hint..........

http://tgscom.com/images/sharedimage...lights/ctc.jpg

MikeMcNair September 24th, 2009 09:32

ok, this laser is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! i need to allign it, but it is still awesome!

if anyone wants one, it is called a "silverback". i needed to make a new pin to hold it on, but that was easy, i found a pop rivit that was perfect diameter, and cut/sanded it down. fits like a glove, and looks great.

better pix to follow....

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...foreH20004.jpg

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...foreH20003.jpg

oh oh oh!!!! I ordered a PDI 6.01 inner barrel for the G26 advance (the don't make it for the 26 in 73mm) so I am gonna cut it down and trumpet the end. it will be a nice, and I might make it 74mm or so, just to gain a little more time in the barrel.

Jimski September 24th, 2009 10:35

you're crazy :)

MikeMcNair September 24th, 2009 10:37

yeah, totally, but i am good at it :)

its like robbing a bank: would you rob it for 100 bucks? or go for the millions? i say go for the millions!!!

MikeMcNair September 29th, 2009 10:40

pdi 6.01 inner barrel arrived over the weekend. not to make it fit the G26.........

ok, i got a PDI 6.01 TBB for a TM G26 Advance, cut it down to 74mm, fluted and beveled the end, and it is a perfect fit. its a shame PDI doesnt make a TBB for the G26, but at least i was able to mod one to fit. and i also sighted in the laser, which is absolutely awesome!!!

all i do is point the laser, and pull the trigger, and it is DEAD ON!!!!!!!!!

i will post some dope pix tonight.

This thread is crazy.

Good work, man.

MikeMcNair November 12th, 2009 16:21

thanks man, i am gonna go crazy if i get CO2 to work on this thing.

next, i need to find .89g metal pellets!!! i MAY go with .43's, not sure yet. the .30's are ok, but they don't hurt enough ;)

MoreToasties November 12th, 2009 16:27

Lol I take it this isn't a skirmish gun then?

What's your FPS like?

MikeMcNair November 12th, 2009 16:31

absolutely not for gaming at all, just a challenge to see how far i can go. FPS is tough to say, i haven't chrono'd yet, and likely will complete the gun before i do.

i dont have easy access to a chrono, so its a pain in the butt. coke can chrono = easily done, but i havent been around for a month, so i havent played much. i will do that tho and see.

it shoots far and fast, no doubt!

MoreToasties November 12th, 2009 16:34

Well it's a very interesting project.

If I had the funds, man...

Good luck!

MikeMcNair November 12th, 2009 16:35

Looks like it's cycling quite well given the weight of the slide.

Chrono-ed the fucker yet?

ShelledPants January 6th, 2010 17:33

That slide clip is fucking awesome. Never seen it before. Slick.

Drake January 6th, 2010 18:07

Nice work, Mike.

So many things can go wrong when you start tinkering with GBBs, its nice to see a project come to such a nice fruition.

MikeMcNair January 6th, 2010 20:53

thank for the nice words guys! i am pleased. the cycling is actually faster normally, but i haven't lubed it lately. lubing makes a TON of difference with this piece..

in fact, it is like a whole new gun, but i am out of silicone spray, and the gun was cold last night so it was actually slow in that vid ;)

mre to comee, just wait, i have some good ideas coming up :)

Shirley January 8th, 2010 03:14

Damn.. Aren't you lucky to have the rarest Guarder steel slide set.. :(

MikeMcNair January 8th, 2010 20:39

it took me months, and a LOT of money to get. i will NEVER sell it, unless my sons life is in danger. seriously.

Now I'm no expert with GBB's in the least... I can disassemble and repair broken parts.. but I don't have alot of experience with tuner builds...

Wouldn't the heavy steel slide counter-act your quest for high FPS? Wouldn't the heavy slide require a lot more effort and pressure from the gas that could have otherwise been put into propelling the BB? (Read: Did you try it with a non steel slide?)

RacingManiac January 8th, 2010 22:29

No since the slide only starts cycling after BB has been shot out...

It'll use more gas to cycle, but that part of the equation has no effect on fps...

Right now I have a k24a4 longblock, and a k20a2 longblock with a spun bearing. I was wondering what the compression would be if I put the k20a2 pistons on the k24 rods? I know alot of people on here know all the specs, and I couldn't find any info. Would I have valve clearance issues, or with the compression be so low it would be useless? And the real question is it possible?

i am going to begin gunsmithing, so should you require any work done, i would be glad to do it for you for a reasonable price. it will keep me busy.

i do indeed have a G26 for sale, it is a tokyo murai, so it is the identical gun to the KJW, but it is all plastic, a opposed to my all steel one. i will pm you about it
