Do want.

RacingManiac July 10th, 2009 10:41

for the money I do want to get one and try it out....though the pistol being what it is I am wary as to what the blaze orange tip treatment will be like....more just intrigue by how TM did to the gun than actually being a fan of the 5-7....

PoFF July 10th, 2009 11:59

The good thing about this pistol is that the "real-steel" (or rather the "real-polymer") version beign made of 100% polymer (except for internal parts, of course), there won't be a need for those costly Full Metal Upgrades.

And for once, the actual caliber of the handgun is close to the diameter of a BB, so closer ressemblance.

Also for Realcap loads this pistol carries 20 rounds ... so pretty decent ammo capacity.

Taiwanese site initial openbox impression, vs real one...

If you can't read Chinese, the highlights are:
-TM version feels more toy-plasticky, more so than Marushin.
-RS mag can't fit in the TM
-TM is lighter than RS
-trigger pull is shorter/lighter than RS

btw I am not sure as to how the poster has a RS 5-7....not knowing where he/she is based and have already gotten hold of the TM gun...

Styrak July 10th, 2009 15:47

"230.0 fps"

Probably on HFC134a, but still.....ewww....

ujiro July 10th, 2009 15:51

Yeah 230 on hfc134a.. Not too great lol. I mean you could slap a tightbore in there to boost it up a bit. But still..
Nonetheless, do want very badly.

RacingManiac July 10th, 2009 15:56

Redwolf jumps around with how they test the gun's FPS, they sometimes uses "Top Gas/Green Gas" and sometimes uses hfc134a...not very consistent....

The power seems to be on par for the most part with most TM though...

hattrick July 10th, 2009 16:51

must have....

aZn_triXta07 July 10th, 2009 19:29

I'm going to get one and break it.

Kuro_Neko July 10th, 2009 19:52

230 on hfc134a? I was under the impression that all TM pistols were propane ready? Why test with hfc134a? I'd love to have a FiveSeveN, especially a TM, but if it's only 230 and only hfc134a then I'll have to pass. That's too weak to field and hfc134a is a bit of a pain to get these days.

theguy July 10th, 2009 20:08

All tm pistols are designed for hfc134a becuase propane is over the legal FPS in japan.

That being said, most TM guns can handle propane well, i have been using propane in my high-capa, works perfectly

ujiro July 10th, 2009 20:21

Yeah unless they add the stupid overfill valve that they had on the MK23 mags (an easy fix anyways) then it will be propane ready. And as theguy said, all of their guns handle propane just fine.

stillbad July 10th, 2009 22:15

Hope my Marushin Five seveN doesn't catch me looking at this...with a pillow in my lap to hide my lust...

hattrick July 11th, 2009 14:38

All tm mags are propane ready, even their earlier barettas and glock 26 have NO problem holding the gas.

The one exception would be the mk23....

stillbad July 11th, 2009 19:48

I was at a 711 today grabbing a slurpee when in saw a gi joe poster that snake eyes already has his!

http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/G.I._Joe:_Rise_of_Cobra

Thenooblord July 11th, 2009 20:54

do want MOAR

Kuro_Neko July 12th, 2009 14:17

I just recently heard that the TM FiveSeveN isn't a 1:1 scale of the real steel, that it's significantly smaller. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

That 2nd one IS the RS....just the Civvie version with different sight...

doesn't looks smaller to me...

Kuro_Neko July 12th, 2009 14:22

Thanks. I guess I heard wrong.

Skladfin July 12th, 2009 14:47

the short trigger pull is just awesome...

ujiro July 14th, 2009 01:26

Short and light trigger pull like that... Sounds like a good chance for a lot of very easy ND's if people forget to put their safety on

Thenooblord July 14th, 2009 01:40

Safety? what's that?

ujiro July 14th, 2009 01:45

The most important aspect to firearms and airsoft handling?

Thenooblord July 14th, 2009 02:37

my WE 1911 fired with the safety on once...

pusangani July 14th, 2009 02:59

Finger off the trigger is your only safety, your finger shouldn't even be on the trigger unless you are aimed and ready to shoot, mechanical safeties fail all the time

?!

Aren't the safety on 1911s just like the safetys on my High-capa?

They physically block the slide.... How did you manage that?!

That's because it's a WE.

.. and because you worked on it. lol.

I don't think the trigger is that light/short. This thing's a must have for anyone with a P90.

And because it has to be said,

ujiro July 14th, 2009 15:49

Hah. Legendary..

That's a hot weapon soldier.

yes it blocks the slide, and supposed to block the hammer too, but i was holstering it and it fired anyways, the slide didnt blow back, but it shot myself in the leg, this was like a month ago, did something similar at TTAC3 last week too
Like Illusion said, its cause its a WE ;)

And because you holster with your finger in the trigger..

and draw the same way..

Skladfin July 14th, 2009 17:59

short trigger pull is really helpful for CQB. The safety issue is... well, you can't always have everything right :D?

tunabreath July 14th, 2009 18:14

Having he safety out there is actually a pretty good idea as it ensures that your trigger finger is out of the trigger guard when operating it, and it doesn't affect your grip as much as moving a thumb safety does since the trigger finger is extended that way anyways.

Look at that SERPA pic - that's exactly where the safety is!

Thenooblord July 14th, 2009 18:39

you know, i was joking when i asked what safety was...

Danke July 14th, 2009 19:57

FN put he safety lever over the trigger just for the very reason that most shooter index there.

Now why did they put the P90 selector below the trigger?

Ayashifx55 July 16th, 2009 16:35

its a bit different than the "Counter-Strike" one :P

stillbad July 30th, 2009 18:53

So hey...anyone know or have come across anything suggesting that perhaps the parts of the TM gun might be compatible with the Marushin version?
I would assume not...but it'd sure be swell says i!

my marushin is sick and parts seem like they're gonna be sort of tough to get...
