Difficult obtaining full metal guns

Is it me, or is it harder to get a full metal gun these days? With retailers in the classified either not showing up or not doing any custom orders, it just worsens the situation. Adding to this, I was on shootsoft and they dont say any metal bodies before. I remembered they used to have a few metal bodies for sale, but its gone now. The only place is 007airsoft, but those ones are "not for civilian use"...

Any thoughts or comments?

Be patience and keep checking on classified. I'm sure that you will deal one day.

By the way, what gun are you looking for ? unless you are looking for minigun then it will be a little bit issue.

You're AVed, there's tons of FMU guns in the classifieds, you just have to pay a premium for them. Finding them new is difficult indeed but used is often great as most of us take good care of our guns and upgrade them for superior performance.

Im looking for either a G&P or CA M4 with RIS and crane stock. Im hoping to build a gun that looks like the sopmod M4. I prefer one that is new, without any scratches or wear and tear.... If I have no sucess, then i guess i have to opt for the G&G Gr16 R4 commando :( closest one i can find..... Its sooo frustrating to have the damn plastic receiver... we should try to change the Canadian laws!!!

You either find what you want in the classifieds or you can't. Complaining about something you don't have the ability to change is just a waste of time.

I concur!

I once shared the same saddness when first joining but you get use to it. And what dpvu said holds a lot of weight on how used guns are taken care of, it is true since guns are hard to come by you take care of the ones you have better. (Granted there are a few sloppy players but you can't win them all)

One thing that a lot of new players learn is The Hunt, always checking the classfieds every day cause you never know when your wanted gun comes

Definitely make use of the wanted ads, I always check those to get a rough idea on whats in demand

Ive been checking the classified, buy/sell, and retailer threads at least 5x a day to check for any new info and msgs. This site is pretty much my home page now as I check it very frequently and ask tons of questions in the newbie section. Well, i paid JoeFriday a gun I wanted so im hoping that will pull through. But i havent heard from him. If not, i have to settle for something else.

Btw, you guys knew I was only kidding about changing the Canadian laws right?

Quick question, can we import metal recievers and stuff? I think its possible, but what do I know. Is it too close to the gun itself?
And if we can not import recievers and the like, what other peices are banned?

What's the aversion to plastic receivers? I have been running TM plastic bodies for years..no issues what so ever. They are easier to maintain and if you dont treat your aeg like a baseball bat it will last you longer than any pot metal piece of crap metal body. I have had metal bodied AEG's and honestly they are nothing special.

I concur with this statement. Is it nice? Sure, but I wouldn't really put a priority on it. Only times I would deem it preferential to is plastic counter-part would be GBBs for the added lifespan when used with propane. With an AEG it makes zero difference other than the "Oooooooh" factor.

And I see too many times noobs having a full metal bodied AEG, and thinking its as durable as they think, treat it like shit; put it through all kinds of abuse and they wonder why the "shit" metal body broke.

For me, i prefer a full metal gun because im more of a collector than a player. I dont want a gun with a clear/tinted receiver because the aesthetics of a gun is very important to me. Even if it was full metal, i would treat it well.

shinobii June 12th, 2009 14:16

What's full metal? lol!!

turok_t June 12th, 2009 21:00

Man, its just so hard to get a full metal gun now.. If all fails, my backup plan is the tinted/clear G&G GR16 R4 commando :( Its the closest one to what I want.

Loathing June 12th, 2009 21:27

Step One: Register on Forum
Step Two: Get AVed
Step Three: Check classifieds
Step Four: Buy full metal AEG
Step Five: ???
Step Six: Profit

Really, I don't see a big problem here. There's at least four to five full metal AEG's in the classifieds right now, like right on the first page.

I have yet to have any issues getting any gun I want, full metal or otherwise. Just be patient, and don't expect miracles from retailers. A one-month timeline is NOT realistic. I waited nearly 5 for my L85.

And I, 3 for my HK 416.

This hobby is not a one-stop shop, nor a fast-food type service.

And mentionned earlier in the thread, you have to develop The Hunt skill.

+ 1 Agree, you have to develop your hunting skill. I always get my gun cheaper than other people do. Most of all the time that I show my toys and pricing to my friends, they just WTF !! going on, how can you get it around that price range ? short answer, hunting skill is need to save money. Here is an example, I just bought my TM M3 full stock brand new in box for 250 $ with 7 shells and blackhawk shells holder, deliever straight right away from sellers in Ottawa after one hour deal, basically he drove from Ottawa to Montreal to deliver the gun to me. It's about 2 hours drive.

Muffin June 28th, 2009 13:50

As it has been stated, complaining about the laws really won't get you anywhere. IMO I don't find it that difficult to find the type of guns your after, you just need to keep your eyes peeled, also I think getting yourself a G&P as a wall hanger would be a waist of a beautiful gun. If your only looking for guns as a collector I would reccomend going with something like dboys.
Good luck in your hunt, also wanted ads help.
