Clearsoft p90tr

Hi i saw this gun http://www.armyissue.com/cube/index....&productId=613 i was wondering if that gun is any good?

Crunchmeister March 31st, 2009 13:09

Plastic gun, plastic mechbox, plastic gears, weak performance, no adjustable hopup, not compatible with other P90 parts on the market. That should answer your question right there.

If you want a wall hanger you can paint and have look pretty, then go for it. If you actually expect to shoot it, then look elsewhere.

Cheeseman March 31st, 2009 13:11

It sucks. It's basically a starter gun for those new to airsoft. The internals are plastic and not much can be expected in terms of performance. As for the LEET accessories, they are the same fragile plastic flash light and red dot's found on the old Well and Crossman airsoft guns. If you’re new to airsoft then it isn’t necessarily a bad gun to target practice with, but don’t expect it to survive long, if at all in the field.

Crunchmeister March 31st, 2009 13:17

Although I will say in this gun's defense that the plastic gears are strong. Sepulcrum, Talraga and I connected an 11.1V Lipo battery to one of these a couple of weeks ago and held the trigger in dry-firing, hoping to see the mechbox implode. Much to our collective amazement, after about a minute long burst, it kept going without issue. We were more worried about blowing up the battery at that point so stopped. But in terms of shooting, it's short range, inaccurate, and very inconsistent. Even for plinking it's crap.

The only 'standard' P90 part it takes is the mags, which are TM compatible. Although the high cap that comes with it is as junky as the rest of the gun.

pabloski March 31st, 2009 13:19

thanks all and ye i am a beginner but after what u guys said im gonna wait and find a better gun...

Rotting March 31st, 2009 13:22

Friend got one of these just to piss around with in his basement as a passtime. Managed to break it the first time he was using it. Not sure what he did, but jesus, I've fallen on my weapon and it still functions. It's not a good sign when a weapon stops working entirely just from being used as intended.

pabloski March 31st, 2009 13:22

wat would you guys say as to this gun?

Please do not post want ads outside of the classifieds section. You must be age verified in order to buy, sell, or post want ads on this website.

Posts like that can get you infractions pretty quickly.

Crunchmeister March 31st, 2009 13:35

Making a post asking for a gun in the non-AV section is a violation of the rules and will result in infraction points against you. I suggest you edit your post.

And why don't you just meet with an age verifier. There are assloads of them in the Toronto area. Then you'll have access to good guns. You're better off buying 1 good gun that will last than multiple shit ones that will break as soon as you get them.

That being said, Aftermath Kraken and Broxa are actually not bad guns - when they work. However, they tend to be hit-or-miss... You could have one that shoots tens of thousands of rounds without issue, or get one that won't shoot off 10 shots before breaking. Buyer beware.

Styrak March 31st, 2009 13:38

What do you mean by "training"?

Thanks crunchmeister... i have sent some one a pm about age verification but i havent heard back so im gonna wait a few weeks and meet with whisper_kill he will verify me..i guess i missed that rule when i read them...:(
and styrak i mean im gonna be doing drills and shooting ...aim practice
ive already started doing the regular drop's, rolls, somersaults....etc but with out a gun...

Crunchmeister March 31st, 2009 13:48

Really man. If you were willing to go to Army Issue to get that clear gun, head down there and talk to Jeroon, the owner. He's an age verifier. Then you won't be stuck choosing between which low end crap gun to buy.

O ok then thanks i'll probably give them a visit this week maybe even today...

Crunchmeister March 31st, 2009 13:54

You should probably call before going to make sure he'll be there though... Or fire him off a PM here on ASC to set up an appointment (his username is ArmyIssue).

kalnaren March 31st, 2009 14:12

Honestly, I have yet to see any clear gun (including the new G&G ones with the clear lower) I'd take over a full black, higher quality one. I'd rather spend the additional $100-$200 on a CA any day. IMO clear guns are only useful for project guns or people who can't get AV'd. That's just my opinion though. (JG aside.. I have a JGP90 and I'm happy with the cost.. if it was clear I never would have touched it though)

kelebay March 31st, 2009 21:20

If anyone has a broken p90 clearsoft gun, I'd be willing to buy the shells, if that's ok to do as im not age verified and wont be for another year and a half. I plan to mod a paintball gun into it

Rock 'N' Roll Outlaw March 31st, 2009 22:40

Dude, did you not read us scald the other user from posting a want ad outside the AV section? And you just admitted your underage, so what makes you think anyone will take you seriously?

Im reporting your post now to admins, so edit your post now or you will be banned.

Woah, easy there killer, Kelebay has so far proven to be quite mature for his age, and if you check out some of his previous threads, he's openly stated he's underage, and he's willing to wait to be AV'ed before he buys. Not trying to start anything here, just suggesting you give the lad a break. :D

Crunchmeister April 1st, 2009 08:26

Mature or not, he's still violating strict forum rules on posting a want ad for a gun outside the AV areas and he will at the very least receive infractions points and possibly a temporary ban for this post.

Turnbull April 1st, 2009 12:24

So wait, you're doing training drills to play airsoft? You realize half the airsoft population are smokers and alcoholics, right? :P

True enough, maybe i'm just too soft on people.

pabloski April 1st, 2009 18:33

I think for you, since your planning on basically putting yourself through basic army training.

Man, in airsoft you REALLY don't need that much training, I do NO exercise what so ever (other than being a stay at home dad with a 7 month old daughter) and I still out run most of the other people at games.

lol in that case im gonna be the king of the hills lol naw im just preparing because i plan to join the army within the next year or 2

Turnbull April 1st, 2009 20:21

I was saying how I fully support the Armed Forces, and plan on enlisting soon. The way I see it, anyone who is willing to make that kind of sacrifice is a hero in my books. Which is why my door is always open for a soldier.

SHÖCK April 1st, 2009 20:32

Airsoft is not the Chuck Norris Academy of Ninja SWAT.

There is no drop, ducking, or rolling. Most of the time I don't even see the enemy before I am shot. Training you need to be doing is normal cardio like running and jogging a few kilometers. Some squats too for crouching.

Unless this is what you guys do in indoor airsoft out east...

Turnbull April 1st, 2009 20:43

Yeah man, out here we do combat rolls all the time. Often times you'll see a whole squad of guys combat rolling across a field... its the tactical way to how we roll haha

rofl man i remember when i used to play guns as a 10 year old...i used to crawl my way across a football field just to have to run back cuz they all ran the other way.....fun times...

L473ncy April 2nd, 2009 23:45

Yeah.... about the smoking and alcoholic part... yeah that's actually a pretty accurate representation of us.

Who was it again that smokes like it's going out of style?

There used to be a "Recipes for single pathetic males" thread.... You'd probably get liver damage before reaching halfway past the 2nd page if you tried the recipes in there.

TBH I'm actually a "fatass" (although I'm a fatass that has a high metabolism). The only exercise I've been getting lately is walking from class to class and up and down stairs. Although I did go for a run last weekend to make a trip out to the safeway and buy.... snacks which was actually pretty counter intuitive and I'm probably worse off after eating those snacks than I was before doing the run.

Amen to that. When I first started playing, I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep up. Now I'm 38, slightly overweight, I smoke, I've been at a desk job for 12 years and get no exercise other than sex and airsoft. Yet I'm outrunning guys just over 1/2 my age on the field. By the end of the day, they're spent and I'm still good to go.

So yeah.. lol

Kool i plan on watching it because ive never really seen a battery implode nor explode....it should be interesting

pabloski April 3rd, 2009 13:32

anyone know how long it takes to get age verified i mean for asc to change it on asc.com i already got verified 2 days ago...and yes this topic has gone off topic but its ok because i know where i can go to have a decent convo and get some info...lol

Crunchmeister April 3rd, 2009 13:35

It's the gearbox we want to kill, not the battery! But we were surprised last time we tried this and it went like nuts without failing. We stopped shooting because the battery wasn't fully charged and was starting to heat up. Lipo batteries need to be treated with extra care...

But I do badly want to see this mechbox blow up...

Crunchmeister April 3rd, 2009 13:37

The list is usually updated about once a week or so. If your verifier has submitted your info, then you'll be updated in the next batch.

When I verify a person, I enter their info on the spot with my phone and tell them the typical wait time and such. Not all verifiers do that though.

true jeroon from army surplus did it on the spot for me but it was my fault i didnt ask...i thought it was automatic verification lol stupid me...

We enter the info in a private thread here on the forum, and about once a week (sometimes more often, sometimes less), the admins go through and update the available names.

that seems right... but then again what is right?lol i did wat i had to...now i guess it just waiting time lol

Turnbull April 3rd, 2009 14:43

When I got AV'd, it updated pretty fast. I had driven up to the LZ at 6am to be there before the guys started their briefing, which means I would've only been put up on that list later on that night, or even the next day, and I was updated maybe 3 days later.

I actually own this gun its made by firepower so please take my advice when i say

youne as well throw ur money away lets face it when i looked at this gun and quote un quote ohh look at all these accessories yey! the silencer may screw up the guns zeroed aim, the clip broke on mine the first time the battery overwelmed the motar or short fused something

though it did shoot fairly well max effective range is 65 ft there are many problems

1: somethimes the semi function won't shoot resulting in automatic mode + hard to properly discharge the spring

2: once you hear Zizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ur mag is screwed

3: the red dot sight may be damaged

a little first had experiance about firepower they fix the guns that are broken and sell them brand new so somethings may be damaged in my case the redot site and some type of grease inside the mech box

fixed hopup

basically some of my anger is towards palaco for wasting my 150$ :(

hope you learn from my mistakes Cheers!

AngelusNex April 3rd, 2009 22:43

$150????? talraga payed like $80 for his and it's a fun little thing (IF you have a 11.1v lipo in it >=3) THOUGH that is probably the only one in existence to be able to survive such abuse... REALLY REALLY fun though, we are going to try and break it again tommorow.

edit: and i know i've mentioned this MANY times but... It's F*CKING unbelievable and i just jump at every chance to ensure all know about it.

I need to see this, wanna know if you can even hear us talking over the gun firing. it be fracking loud.

Crunchmeister April 4th, 2009 23:52

Yeah, you can hear what we're saying pretty clearly, but the gun is loud. The video itself is shit quality. My camera doesn't do good quality video. But you can see and hear everything clearly.

Propane is propane. As long as the adapter fits properly, you're good to go. But the large coleman containers stink less, cost less, and have more propane in them.

well i dunno if you know much about plumbing but its the prpane you buy for a blowtorch....and its a blue bottle its a coleman but its bigger then the green one....i just need to make sure becuase i dont wanna ruin th gun

It's the same thing. I've used many of them. The bottle is taller, but thinner. The stubby Coleman bottles will give you more fills than those, and are a bit cheaper.

i have a question i got a free clearsoft p-90 from a buddy but the mag is having feeding issues its a high cap any one know a solution?

Daiviet April 10th, 2009 17:40

a simple solution is to not use the hi-cap. Hi cap mags for the p90, any make, tend to suck. easiest thing to do is switch over to normal spring fed ones.
