Official I hate Canada postal service thread!!!

So I recently ordered a package from Ehobbyasia (crane stock + wires + magpul grip). And I knew it would take around 2 weeks to get to me, so I decided not to check where it was with the traking number.
It has been 3 weeks since the package was shipped from Hong Kong now, and I havent received anything, so I decided to track my order,
and guess what is the status of the order.....it has been return to the sender!!!! And they say that I have refused to take the package at delivery? But NOBODY came to deliver that package....!

And now we dont know where in the world is that package, if it was shipped back to HK?!

PS : do packages from ehobby usually need a signature at delivery?

TokyoSeven March 4th, 2009 07:42

Ive never had to sign for anything from ehobby, back when I ordered from them atleast. I dont deal with them anymore
The majority of the time parcels take anywhere from 7-10 business days to arrive in Canada from China, however in some rare instances parcels can arrive with in days of ordering. This could have been what happened to you, but its only a speculation.

The best you can do is file a complaint with Canada post, and email ehobby about your situation and ask them to keep an eye out for the returning parcel.

Gunny_McSmith March 4th, 2009 07:57

The item was shipped the 11th february and it had arrived in canada the 12th, and by the 16 it had cleared customs and was "out for delivery" but nobody came, and i didnt received the little card they put on your door ( isnt that pretty fast for standard courrier?)

Yes i contacted canadapost, and they told me they couldnt help.....but i could file a complaint....
And I'm now dealing with ehobby to see what will happen next....

gpassfield11 March 4th, 2009 08:41

I've done 2 orders with ehobbyasia, and I have never had to pay duties or sign. If nobody was there to receive the package, canada post leaves a notice and then you can just go pick it up at the office within a month or something...someone messed up

Gunny_McSmith March 4th, 2009 08:55

me 2 ,it's my 4th order from them... And never had someone deliver it at your door, it comes in the mailbox...

TokyoSeven March 4th, 2009 09:04

In my old condo the parcel delivery driver for my area was a drunken arse and never left a slip that stated they tried to deliver anything. I always check my tracking numbers religiously when Im expecting something.

Gunny_McSmith March 4th, 2009 09:12

I just check the traking number, and the item has left canada...
.so i guess I 'll reorder and waste another 25$ of shipping... And this time I'll check the tracking number each day!!!

I should ask a refund to canada post.... I paid for a service and all I get is BS.....

Actually, you can't do shit, because YOU didn't pay for shipping, ehobby did. Even though you paid ehobby for shipping, they're the ones that have to handle any problems wiht the shipping, since they're the shipper and the "shipping agreement" is between them and the postal service.

gpassfield11 March 4th, 2009 09:20

Someone is to be held accountable here. I am 99% sure there is not even an option to have your ehobby order 'signature on delivery'. Either someone new at ehobby sent it with a typo or Canada Post messed up.

Although I do believe this is why couriers offer insurance. I don't think you will get anywhere with Canada Post because they are just overpaid cunts. Probe ehobby to resend the package (since it is going back there anyway)

Gunny_McSmith March 4th, 2009 09:24

actually you are right Crunch.... Then I guess I wasted 25$ for nothing....Why does this always happen to me??! I'm so unlucky...I cant beleive it...

Edit: ya GP thats what surprised me when i checked, I never had to sign anything from ehobby, or anyother stuff you get from HK, they usually declare the parcels as beeing tots , so you dont have to pay duties or sign.....

I think everyone is missing the point here. How would you like to be the poor kid they mailed to you in the box. They now have to go all they way back to HK!

LOL. That's exactly what I pictured when I read that.

Latvian291 March 4th, 2009 12:40

I recently bought a gas gun off of a member of this board. After 3 days of him sending it, the tracking number said it had been "successfully" delivered. I never got anything. I called Can Post and contacted the seller. He launched a trace and CP told me according to their records it was delivered. I was worried some postie left it by my door and then someone in my building had swiped the package from my door.

The day AFTER it said it was delivered I got a knock on my door from CanPost and the guy handed me the package!

gpassfield11 March 4th, 2009 13:09

Yeah you don't have to be too bright to work for Canada Post

CP isn't directly the problem. The problem is they contract out parcel delivery to the lowest bidder, and those companies have basically zero accountability.

My comment was in response to Submachinehead's situation. who's problem was more than likely do to an incompetent Canada Post Employee ie delivered it to the wrong address and someone accepted the package or it was scanned as delivered on the truck but never really left the truck lol or whatever the case may be.

But you're right...Canada Post is not really the problem with the original situation here. The problems likely occurred prior to the package arriving in the hands of CP.

Amos March 4th, 2009 14:16

What did you order? There's a chance you could have ordered something restricted and instead of burning it the decided to return to sender.

Ehobby will give you a complete refund.

BORDENSNIPER March 4th, 2009 14:21

Ehobby is amazing with shipping and customer service.

this is CP fault for being duche bags as always.

trufret March 4th, 2009 15:41

I had the same thing happen with a package from uncompany a few years ago. Followed the status until it said it was out for delivery but never showed up. Later that day it was marked refused at the door and sent back to HK. I know I didn't refuse it because I was the only one home. I called them and they said there was nothing they could do as it was already on it's way back to HK. When I had uncompany reship it (at my cost) I had them print out my address so it took up an entire 8x11 sheet of paper and tape it to the front of the box. it showed up a week later with the huge address page on it.

Mister Donut March 4th, 2009 15:43

I ordered some mags from Ehobby and got them within 6 days. That being said, it was a good thing I was at home at the time because CP just knocked on my door and left the package on the ground. I opened the door and saw the postal worker walking towards his van. He didn't even bother to verify if anyone was home or not, just left the package in front of the door. If I wasn't home, someone could have just come by and grabbed it.

Hash Vapor March 4th, 2009 15:59

I've had many of the problems here happen to me as well. Packages left outside on the ground. Tracking says out for delivery, no one shows up, package marked for pickup, post office losses package even though their own computer tells them they have it.

I'm so tired of the delivery guy not even trying to make the delivery or even leaving a notice. Twice this winter I received my package only because the post guy got his shitty little post van stuck in the snow out front of my house trying to leave without even making a reasonable effort to knock on my door, and twice I got out of bed ran down and pushed him out. My dumb ass should have just grabbed the package and left him there. :banghead:

haha that's actually kinda funny. If it helps any, I'm betting even a douche like that would feel stupid after treating a customer like crap and then accepting help from him later on.

arcanuck March 4th, 2009 16:04

A money order of mine was lost for about 10 or so weeks last year.

Every time I think of it, that G-Mod video on youtube plays in my head. The one where they stick a rocket to the horse statue's ass and it takes off into the sky on a random course and then sets into a redundant oval flightpath.

I dont think I ordered anything restricted because it had cleared the customs.... But if it could help you, I ordered a G&P crane stock (+9.6v battery) , a G&P assembly switch and a magpul PTS pistol grip.....

HeadlessChicken March 4th, 2009 20:51

If ever I missed a package, it would be held at a post office for pickup for like 1 week and a notice will be posted by the CP guy noting a failed delivery on my door though usually they're just too lazy to even knock on the door and just post the damn notice or leave the package with out a signature, even if requested (now if only they did that with stuff needing COD, I'd be happier). I'm finding it weird even for CP to have totally bypassed that step. With your case, I'm not sure if a delivery issue needs to be raised from either you as the receiver or by EHobby as the shipper, you'll have to contact Post about that. Sorry to hear about these troubles man, I know some of your pain. I also bought off EHobby a few days before Christmas and paid extra for Xpress shipping. Didn't get my package in for just over a month, about a week after I emailed EHobby to raise start an issue case on my package. Wasn't anything big or restrictive either (G36 hand guard, some BBs, and a battery).

whoooaaaa....I was gonna order the same Crane Stock...LOL...

15thKnight March 5th, 2009 01:14

This is why i contact everyone i buy and tell them (to tell CP) they MUST get my signature. doesn't matter if my brother, mother, wife or son get it it MUST by my sig. and they have it on file.

I have also had this happen. Apparently the post guy made some sort of arrangement with the Cafe downstairs so that he didn't have to drag his lazy ass up my steps every other day. So then I had to go downstairs and convince whatever newly landed Italian guy they picked that day to run the place that these were indeed my packages, and no he doesn't have to "Make OK from Pasquale!"

Sometimes they do it, but they're not supposed to. You could complain if you're that concerned.

They do the same thing in my neighborhood, but with all mail. Especially stuff from the govt and sensitive mail. Good thing the neighbors are honest. I've filed several complaints, and the same thing happens everytime. They say they are 'looking into it', service improves for a couple of days, then goes back to shitty.

Anybody have any idea how long does it take the custom to the clear the item ? Mine has been sitting there almost 5 days and it didn't clear yet and it's just only PMAGs in there.

Apparently Customs is taking a long time with all packages this past while.

The time can vary from a few hours to a few weeks. Theres really no exact way to tell how long customs will take to clear a parcel.

Yannos March 5th, 2009 11:52

My package was not even held 1 day last week at the custom. So I guess they pick the package they want to check lol.

Amos March 5th, 2009 12:52

Ugg... I woke up early and I'm patiently waiting for my package to arrive...

Luckily I have a good post guy, If I'm not awake he'll come knock on my bedroom window :)

But.. I see him almost every day... so I'm a familiar face lol

I had a scope from Huang, and a radio from HK today, both by EMS needing a sig. Normaly they'd just leave the notice in your mailbox since it's registered. My postie saw they were for me so he brought them along just in case I was home.

Amos March 5th, 2009 15:17

My package arrived, he was only 3 minutes off from his regular time :)

And he delivered it with a smile.

And oh my is this ever amazing :)

Also, offer your mail man a coffee or something to eat.... The more he likes you, the more he'll like delivering stuff to you.

Danke March 5th, 2009 15:26

This reminds me of a funny story.

Back when I started where I work I was the shipper. One of the tasks wast to meet with sales reps for the freight carriers and try to grind them on rates.

So I meet with our Canada Post rep, and she's a really cute girl, and today in a really short skirt. The meet's in the warehouse with just some chairs in a circle by my desk. There's me, the GM, and the rep. She's trying to balance her binders and info in her lap and make her presentation, she's right across from me and I can see right up her skirt. The GM see's what's going on and realize he can't see from where he is. he spends the whole meeting leaning over, craning his neck around and so on to get a peek.

At some point she clued in. That was the last time she dropped by and the for the next pitch we had a guy drop. Man I was pissed at the GM for scaring her off, and he was pissed at me for not trading seats with him.

Same here... I paid for expedited shipping, and they shipped it from ehobby the SAME DAY that I ordered it, (ehobby asia rocks), it arrived in Canada 2 days later, (Mar. 1) and has been sitting in Customs ever since.

Where's the "I Hate Customs" thread? :D

hmm ! I order from ehobby as well. They are really rock but the package has been sitting at custom from 1 March until now.

Danke March 5th, 2009 19:08

My last eHobby package came yesterday, ordered on the 25th, a big crate-o-mags, not a hitch.

Gunny_McSmith March 6th, 2009 20:01

Ya Ehobby rocks, I contacted them for my issue and we have aggreed to reship the item....as soon as they receive it back...lol

PS:I like how the title of this thread has changed from ''I hate Canada Post'' to ''Official I hate Canada postal service thread!!!''

JacoNB March 12th, 2009 07:26

Okay, so I contacted Canada Customs for my package that has been sitting in Mississauga since March 1 (and I paid a crapload of money for expedited shipping!!!!). Turns out that Canada Post receives their packages, and hold them IN CASE customs decides they want to review them. In other words, Canada Post keeps your package in a warehouse to be processed by THEIR customs broker... NOT the CBSA. (Unless the CP broker flags it as restricted materials or something).

In other words, it's not Canada Customs holding the package, it's effin' Canada Post. (And I called, but of course, they're not open yet).

Someone is going to reimburse me for the extra shipping. (grumble grumble)

Kuro_Neko March 12th, 2009 07:44

I don't have anything but good things to say about my local mailman, he always delivers the packages when they arrive. My beef with CP is God Damn Dieppe, New Brunswick!

As you can see from my location, I live in Newfoundland. Every time I have something shipped to me, it travels clear across the country in two or three days then spends upwards of two weeks sitting in God Damn Dieppe, New Brunswick. I'd like to bomb that place off the face of the earth. I could drive there and back a dozen times over in the amount of time my packages end up sitting there.

Daiviet March 12th, 2009 08:12

I do agree that Canada Post can be lacking, but its the cheaper option compared to others. Delivery wise I used to have a shitty contractor, typical being at home all day, not even a door knock, then I get the tag saying undeliverable because I wasn't home.

The worst I've had was picking up a parcel from the post office (because apparently i wasn't home) then 4 weeks later while expecting a different package, getting a notification of failed delivery. I go to the post office, and guy tells me the package has already been picked up, by me. For some Godforsaken reason I got a notice 4 weeks after the first package was delivered. Stupid.

Contractor now is good, he said he came 3 times to my house, once in the morning, once in the afternoon, and one last time before heading back to the post office to drop off the package. I gave him a firm handshake and some coffee for his efforts.

Also, theres quite a bit of Canada post rant threads around, is it possible to merge them all together?

KND March 12th, 2009 08:17

damn. I got home yesterday and open my mail. They dump a book of my buddy inside there, it got stuck inside and it took me almost an hour to took it out. They just can leave a delivery notice card then I will pick it up,. that would a wise way to do than dump those package inside that tiny box. Next time, maybe they dump my PMAG inside there as well which is 10 of them.

The old mail man used to be good but not a new one. The old one, he actually came to my apartment to confirm my COD which I wrote not clear and also even the seller put the wrong address, he still deliver to me since he usually come to my apartment 2 or 3 time per week so my name is in his head already.

JacoNB March 12th, 2009 11:08

Unbelievable. I called Canada Post, who basically said... "Sorry, we can't do anything, call the guy in Hong Kong to send it to you again".

To which I responded... "WTF are you TALKING about???! So even if I manage to get someone to initiate a trace on the package, it's already in Canada... they're not going to resend a new box (of over $200 of merchandise) because Canada Post f@cked up. Get real."

"Sorry, sir-- but they actually paid for the shipping, even though you gave them the money for it, but we can't do anything for YOU. They can file a claim with their local post office, be reimbursed the cash and reship you the item if you so desire."

"So if they've already got my money, what's to stop them from saying 'GFYS' and not bothering to reship?"

"Uh..."

"Exactly."

OH MY GOD Canada Post are morons. I don't know when the term "going postal" meant to go nuts, and go on a killing spree... that would actually mean someone made a physical effort to do something. "Going Postal" should mean "falling asleep on the job" or something more appropriate.

Please note: this is NOT a rant against Ehobby Asia... they received my money and shipped the same day. Had Canada Post done their job correctly, I'd already be rocking my new gear.

Well, hopefully you sort the whole deal out, keep good communication with the company. If need be, open a dispute if you paid with paypal, if the time is comming close to the 45 day dispute limit, open a dispute anyways and let them know that you opening a dispute to protect yourself and that you still have faith that they will ship the new items once they have sorted out the issues with their postal office on their side.

My parts have been sitting in mississauga since the 4th, including my metal slide. I hope I get it soon, I would have loved to do my upgrades over the weekend. I really hate customs. Canada post is alright to me most of the time.

Denis[teamplayer] March 12th, 2009 12:47

I've had a parcel left at my front door, and another one again left at the front door but this one required signature!?!?!? and also one left in my backyard with the gate hanging open. AWESOME! CP rules, I have a new postlady now, seems good thus far.

I must have missed a post here, but why would CP holding it for reiew from their brokerage folks cause a re-send?

yuhaoyang March 12th, 2009 13:48

So... CP only delivers monday to friday right? Why is it they randomly left a CA between my insect screen and door on SUNDAY?! When someone was home!

Moderate March 12th, 2009 13:49

My package had international tracking that switched over to Canada Post once it was in Canada, cleared customs and ended up in Ottawa (where I live) but was never sent out for delivery. That was on February 5th, I then contacted the seller and asked them to inquire to Canada Post about the whereabouts of my package. Tuesday (10th of March) I got a letter from CP asking if I had received the package in question or if it had been returned to sender. I check both no boxes and sent it to Canada Post.

Waiting to hear back from them, apparently they are going to investigate/look into it?

Sorry dude, last thime they said that, it just meant "we don't really give a fuck and are trying to delay this as long as possible"
They refused to do anything when the parcel arrived 10 buisness days later than what the tracking number said, even though I paid for priority. That 12 actuall days was enough for the compressed spring in that G&P box I ordered to bend every metal component in it.

So, in order for me to actually GET the stuff I paid for, she suggested that I contact the shipper, get them to resend the merchandise, and get reimbursed from Hong Kong Post. Which sounded completely retarded to me.

oooo The CP hate thread.

2 Weeks ago I had a shipment due to be delived to my house(Non-AS). I wake up around 0920 and checked the tracking number - said that delevery was attempted and slip was left on my door. This was dated at about 0800, so I went to the door to look and there was nothing. I had some stuff to do in town so I left home. When I got back - regular mail had not even been delivered yet. I knew this was a sign of trouble to come.

I took my laptop and a chair out to the porch and waited for the mail person to come by, hopeing to catch their attention and ask some questions. After getting sick of waiting I decided to go to the post office and ask wtf is going on. On my way down the drive I checked the mail box one last time to see if they had evevn come by to deliver normal mail, they had, and the attemped delivery slip was in my mailbox... and not on the door. Between the time I steped through 1 door to grab my keys, coat and boots they had delivered normal mail, not come up my drive AT ALL let alone knock on my door.

When I got to the post office the lady there said I had to come back at 1700 to pick of the package because it was still on the truck (it was 1500 at the time). I was pissed and just walked away with the number she provided me to call CP. I did.... fruitless attempt.

I went back at 1700 and the lady turnt arround and grabbed a package that was behind her when I went in at 1500 and handed it to me. It had been at the office THE WHOLE TIME. They didnt even ATTEMPT delivery. I was Furious.

I argued to the point that I got the full price of my express shipping back.

I hate CP SO much when this shit happens.... but they manage to get most of my parcels right.

Yeah, but when it's about $1,149.87 CDN you get a tad nervous.

Like right now :/

It's a shame how that's the mentality now when dealing with Canada Post... I mean, I'm totally in the same boat, but still...

No more expecting it to be on time and secure and not beat up. No more being satisfied when they do what they say they'll do. And gods forbid something be early and properly delivered, that just won't do.

...just being relieved that they haven't screwed up so epically that reindeer and elves are playing with your video games that you ordered a year ago... (sigh... I'll never get to play the Force Unleashed...)

cerealmaniac March 13th, 2009 01:19

wow sounds like u guys had a tough time with CP. my courier has always been nice.

FlyingCats March 16th, 2009 15:13

They are so freaking lazy, i ordered from velocityarms, and i live 30 minutes away from VelocityArms, and they didn't even attempt to ship it on the first days. Lazy Assholes.

EDIT: I'm referring to CanadaPost not velocityarms. I love VA

Are you talking about CP or VA? Cause it sounds like you're shitting on VA.

warbird March 16th, 2009 15:22

Where I live, CP won't deliver, you have to go check your mailbox at the post office for a delivery card. It had been about two weeks since my package had been shipped, so I decided to go down and check my mailbox. There was no notice card left. I then go to the desk and ask the lady if it was possible that my package had arrived but that I wasn't left a notice card. She casually answers: "Oh, yeah!". Of course the package had been there for a week. Patience and tolerance is key when using CP:)

I used to order quite a bit of hunting gear and guns from SIR in Winnipeg. I always had to go to the post office and sign to pick up my package. The a**hat behind the counter kept telling me to stop ordering guns because he didn't want them at his post office. I live in Oakville for Christ's sake in a realatively good neighbourhood. HTe douchebag got so picky that he returned 2 of my guns to the sender because he didn't like having them in the office.

So happy when a package comes to my house and if I'm not home, they ALWAYS leave a slip. Also the lady at the post office knows me by name, so I don't think I would have any problems with her going through, or sending my stuff back to the sender. That does suck conrad13:(

Skladfin March 28th, 2009 21:15

Be nice to your local canada post mail person.

The more they like you, the more they go out of their way to help you.

use logic, screaming at them won't help for shit

lemegacool March 28th, 2009 21:27

Suck on that all you CP haters! Oh yeah also had my nice Bates M-9 Desert Boots Replaced under warranty.. WOOOT!

Hades March 30th, 2009 11:07

Never had a problem with CP before today. I guess it was a lazy delivery person seeing I was in the kitchen cooking breakfest, heard the mail guy put shit in my mailbox which is 10 feet away from the kitchen. Went to check 2 mins later and low and behold a delivery notice card saying no anwser and to pick up my package tomorrow. Lazy bastard did not even knock.

Shirley March 30th, 2009 13:01

I am not sure how this is but I ordered from eHobby on eBay a pair of BDUs on the 21st of February, and then a vest on 22nd of February. Yes it does take 2 days for payment and then ship. But, 2 weeks and a few days later as usual, my vest arrives before my BDUs. I didn't even recieve my BDU's yet. And it's well over a month. Maybe HK lost my package on flight, or lost my package through CP, or customs opened it and stole it..
Hmmm.

Oh, and CP keeps folding my mail and I have a foot long mailbox...

pusangani March 30th, 2009 17:15

got a package of non-restricted parts there since Feb 22nd, customs says if it was seized I would've gotten a notice by now :( fucking CPOST!!! arrghh

Dude. This is ALL I get. Many times I've been in the kitchen and see him walk by. It's really annoying. However, I only live 5 mins from the post office, and in most cases, If I go back around 4-5 pm the same day, my stuff is there.

But seriously, do your job to the fullest. A fricking knock on the window (which is beside the mailbox) isn't hard.

Same here... I have stuff in Mississauga since Feb 16th. No way of even making an inquiry.

Panek March 30th, 2009 21:39

Canada Post fucked up big time for me. I've recently won a M17 gas mask (+ bag) for my 'Nam re-enactment. Paid the money, the guy shipped it out the next day.

Fast forward two weeks. Still no gas mask in the mail. Suddenly I receive an e-mail and the guy tells me the mask came back to him with "UNCLAIMED" stamped on the box.

I check my mailbox every day. I didn't get anything - no slips, no notices, no nothing. Awesome, now I will probably have to pay the shipping cost again because some loser didn't feel like leaving a note for me.

I just got an item yesterday from Feb 16th! The Feb 22nd items have not shown up yet.

Moderate April 22nd, 2009 12:09

I am so fucking pissed off at Canada Post right now! I've been waiting all morning for my VSR-10 to show up in the mail, really excited to get it, I hear the clack clack of the mail slot opening and closing and immediately know that I've been duped by CP again! I run down the stairs to my front door, grab the slip, and run out the door...the guy hops in his van and speeds off as fast as he can. I look at the slip and it says "no answer". MOTHER FUCKER.

Is there any way to report these douchebags that are too lazy to take packages out of their vehicles, instead just take a small slip and stuff it through my door...WITHOUT ringing the doorbell and without knocking. These people should lose their jobs, because they obviously aren't doing them properly...

...now I'm going to CP website to see if I can report this mother fucker.

Cobrajr122 April 22nd, 2009 12:16

Last time that happened to me I was given a phone number to call... when you go in to pick up the package just ask the person there what you can do.
