me like. both aesthetically and for what they are trying to push. If we had that in canada, i think it would be a huge bonus for airsoft as then it wouldn't look like the sport is dominated purely by gun-toting army wannabees or w.e our stereotype is.

all im going to say is that its their pic they can put fingers on triggers if they want... most of my pics have trigger fingers.... it makes it look like a action shot. why is it you guys dont like triigger fingers anyeay?? i dont shoot the cameraman

it's a display of sloppy discipline.
it's usually a premise for an accident.
with real firearms you usually end up shooting your own hand or a friend's face ;)

Yes this is very true, The pictures are about a year old now and we have since changed our gastly ways of poor trigger dicipline.

Yeah, that's pretty much it... Takes a real special breed of woman to get into airsoft. Remember, many of the guys are not only beer-swilling chain smokers, but most are also chronically single and less than skillful with women...

It's all about habits. Most of us that have handled real weapons tend to bring those habits across to airsoft. It's not nerdy if you happen to be on the other end of the barrel when you're taking one of these pictures. You may not be pointing it at the camera man but often it's pointing somewhere, right? As Hoot so elegantly put it, "this is my safety, sir."

How many woman play Airsoft in Canada?

Not a whole lot, but there have been at least 2-3 at each larger event I've attended (sometimes more), and at least 1 at every smaller event. So there are female players out there for sure. Just not a whole lot.

I've been to Wolfpack two or three times and BWII...plus many local games.

Yeah, there were several women playing at BWII. The most I've seen at a single game. Then again, BWII was the largest game I've been to, so take that for what you will.

There were a few girls playing at Op Broadsword in Picton a couple of weeks back (about 3-4, I think), and I believe there were only 60-ish players in attendance. So proportionally, that may have been the highest female turnout I've seen to date at any game.

I'll be at picton in July if they open the Canadian side up.

The venue is worthwhile playing at regardless what side you're on. But yeah, as soon as the US side fills up a bit, then they'll reopen the Cdn side. It's rather uneven right now.

Women should play airsoft, its a good idea.
I used to play paintball(don't hate i'm here now aren't i?)
and i brought a few of my friends to the field needless to say every guys head turned and i can honestly say my favorite comment was "theres a girl?" its a male dominated sport. I've also noticed the women pay alot more detail to everything and catch the small things that guys won't first time around.

Eh, 2 outta 3 ain't bad. Least, not in my books. I've talked with a few women about the sport just because they asked what it was and they were interested, too bad most of them don't reside in Canada. Tried talking to the girlfriend about it, but she seems more interested in text-spamming with her cell-phone and trolling Facebook for hours to no end amongst other things.

It is a shame, though. Seems like every time a woman shows interest in the sport, 6/10 guys crack open a beer, 4/10 light a smoke, 7/10 are bragging about their gun, and 10/10 just farted. Way to go us!

When you talk up the teamwork aspect, I've found that women tend to be more open to the sport, basically a teammate is a teammate
That said, there's still a larger group that singles out or mollycoddles female participants, the"you're a girl, you don't have a clue" brigade.
wanna validate the sport, be more inclusive.

I tough about starting a thread for the Airsoft Girls of Canada... But than, figured it would mostly be guys posting on it... lol so i restrained myself... lol There is more and more girls coming to games... And that is awesome... I love when a gf shows up, just to look, and i go up to her and give her a little pep speech and it makes her think a little more about playing... As for guys being shovenistic, i have not experienced that yet... I feel they treat me equally, and dont treat me like i have no place there... Or maybe i was just lucky and played with really cool people... lol

And there's also the "other" crowd. These seriously make me shake my head in wonder. They will either hesitate to shoot a female participant, or just not take a shot at all because "she's a girl". Or they'll shoot her (after hesitating) and apologize to her for doind so. Like WTF? Are you guys fucking serious??? This is just as bad or worse as the "you're a girl, you don't have a clue" brigade, if not worse.

Sorry people, but the second the game is on. I don't care if someone is male, female, or hermaphrodite. An opponent is an opponent, and their gender has been left behind the second they entered the staging area and started kitting up for the game.

A female player will get no special privileges from me in game for being a girl. If she's on my team, then I consider her a team mate on equal terms with anyone else. If she's on the other team, I will shoot her ass just as fast as I would any other opponent, and no apologies about it. The exception being if I happen to nail a painful face shot or something, and there, I would apologize just as quickly to a male player as a female player.

Seriously guys. The women that are playing this game are there because they want to play and can take it. They're not looking for special treatment because they're women. They've accepted the same risks of getting shot, welts, bleeders, etc as the rest of us. Having boobs doesn't make her any different than another player on the field.

Fucking enemy will drop you, female or not so you shoot them, female or not :P

It's happened far more often than you're even aware of. The last 2 games we played together at the Mill, I've caught guys on my team either stop shooting when they realized it was you that they were engaging, or just not take a clear shot at all. This also happened with girls at Border Wars last year, and at Op Broardsword last month in Picton.

Well apparently, it has happened, so well, i will have to talk with the boys and tell them it's ok... lol I have a mouthguard and goggles, so no need to hesitate... lol At worse i will have something that looks similar to a zit...

I don't think the girls of ASC want to be oggled at by said beer swilling, chain smoking, molson muscle bound forum hounds...Or maybe they do, but let that be their decision. Raising it as an opportunity as a guy screams creepiness. And you wonder why the girls of ASC are so few and far between. They are here to kick our asses, not be treated like bar trash. Don't make this about "w00t! it's a g1rl!". That's what keeps them away. They don't want to come to a game to be treated like that...That's why they're there. They come to shoot. Just like you.
Try to have some respect for them. Some of them are wives of ASC members, friends, sisters, teammates, etc... And as they put up with us and still hit the fields, they deserve an official hat-tipping.

I've put calendars together and worked with girls and guns before. so it was just a suggestion. Its always up to the girls. I'm just glad to see girls out on the field having fun and kicking butt.

Than, is there 12 girls by province??? lol In quebec and ontario, i'm sure, but i'm not even sure it comes up to 12... lol

well I never said it be easy to organize 12 girls in each province to pose and model in front of a photographer. then to pick the best pictures and get them published and sold on ASC Mart.
first we need the girls
second we need the photographers I'd love to travel and do it myself but money time and one province is enough thank you
third we need a place to print them
and last we need ASC to approve the sales of these!

well there's gonna have to be people appointed for each province to make sure everything is done well and right. personally i think you should be in charge of the Quebec Calendar since, you seem to show the most interest from there.
the shots can be done in any environment that reflects airsoft and that the girl feels comfortable in. group shots would be nice. like stacking up on a door, or tactics through the woods. be creative!

Quiet true sadly we do get mollycoddled or not included sometimes in the male "wolf pack" but not been outright discriminated.
