Ok, New Pistol

Ok, I just bought a C02 NBB pistol from a friend, clearsoft, for 85 for some C02 and .20's One thing to say, Awesome. The thing is, I don't know the FPS, with a coke pop can, it went through sides, and made a nice dent in the top. What's the FPS do you think? By the way, its the KWC Sig 2022 i think. Also, if you leave the C02 canister in the mag, will it run out? Or does that just happen if it's leaking?

Neil_N January 7th, 2009 17:53

Should be posted on the manufacturer stats page if they have a site.

Steven January 7th, 2009 17:54

I'm not sure where my friend bought it from, all I know is some hunting store in Ladner.

Neil_N January 7th, 2009 18:19

reread your post "KWC Sig 2022" :)

Erennert January 7th, 2009 18:27

Everything I've seen says its around 380, but what about his other question? the leaking?

MadMorbius January 7th, 2009 18:29

If you leave the canister in the mag, it will eventually run out through minor seepage. Of course, you'll probably blow a seal before that happens.

I think those guns are shooting about 280 out of the box, given that they're C02 powered.

FYI, I saw one of those where the front of the pistol literally snapped off. I would speculate that the parts aren't really manufactured with tolerances required for the cold pressures of C02. So beware rapid firing.

Steven January 7th, 2009 18:34

What do you mean "blow a seal" And I'm sure it's more than 280, goes through both sides of a pop can, HUGe dent on the top and a pretty big one on the bottom, and sure thing.

Gunny_McSmith January 7th, 2009 18:48

search for the "coke can chrony" on google.... And ya going through both sides with .20g bbs is around 280-300fps....

Steven January 7th, 2009 19:08

I saw somewhere else that if it goes through both sides but doesn't go though the bottom, it's around 380?? Well, still its rally accurate and it's m first CO2 gun so im happy :D

+1, well + or - 30fps or so.

Steven January 7th, 2009 19:24

OK, mixed answers here... is it 380 or 300? big difference

Daiviet January 7th, 2009 19:26

go to a local paintball place and ask if you can use their chronograph. The pop can method isn't the most reliable.

Steven January 7th, 2009 19:29

That's another option, but that's kinda a waste of time to drive 20min there and back and just ask to use their chrono.

Bowers January 7th, 2009 19:30

buy a chrono?

kalnaren January 7th, 2009 19:33

The only reliable method to chronie a gun is to use a chronograph, irregardles sof what manufactuer's specs states. Clearsoft specs are notoriously incorrect or over-exagerated.

Steven January 7th, 2009 19:35

Yea, well I guess it doesn't matter that much, thanks guys

Kid, you have multiple opinions... so why not go and DRIVE to a paintball shop/field and use the chrony? And yes I agree with what others have said, those guns are crap and they VERY literally break the front ends VERY easily.

zone 69 January 8th, 2009 03:13

The pop can method isn't that reliable.

you can use the chronograph that uses your computer and 2 microphones....

Not sure where it is on this forum but im sure you can find it or someone can post a link to that thread.

Well, the concept is simple enough. Record the "whoosh" of air as the BB passes them. You know the distance between the mics, so it becomes a simple equation.

You can do that too. I've seen vids of it done both ways.

The paper is probably more reliable since it will be easier to filter that out of the mechbox noise.

comrade1 January 9th, 2009 12:43

dude you should have just saved some cash and bought a GBB pistol. its been proven time and time again that no matter were you get them, how much, or what there powerd by, clear soft guns are crap.

alright so are you saying that with any C02 pistol, you should leave it without it's C02 canister in it?

Also, I'm looking for a high quality non-blowback pistol (preferrably C02 powered) for good gas consumption. Now I have searched quite a bit and know just about all the cheaper guns around that are still worthwhile. as such

but as far as "real" airsoft goes, are there any quality companies that sell non-blowback guns?

TM with the Mk23 NBB
