KSC vs KJW M9A1
Hi, i'm thinking about buying a new pistol and after a few days i decided to go with the beretta M9A1. i would like it to be full metal and these 2 seem to be the best choice, i couldn't find any helpful review so if you guys have owned one of them or know more than i do about this model (other brands too) please feel free to post! :D

KSC doesn't make a full metal M9
However, I've held both the KSC and KJW M9... and in all honesty, the plastic KSC M9 feels better than the metal KJW one. |
I have 2 KJW M9 Vertecs, full metal.
I love them. |

do u think it's only the slide or something? |
I cannot recall where I read it, so unfortunetly I cannot provide a source but I do believe KJW beretta series guns are clones of KSC and not that of TM. I have never owned a KSC M9, but I have owned one of their glock series and it was of great quality and lasted a very long time. I do however currently own a KJ M9 Elite model which for the most part does a satifsfactory job performance wise.

A TM mag will cycle a KJW A KJW Mag will cycle a TM KSC is different than both of 'em As for that full metal KSC M9... It looks like just the slide is metal... Apparently KSC has been doing that recently. |

i think that i'll prob go with the kjw being cheaper and from what i've understood very similar to the ksc...
i found these 2 what do u guys think? CO2 or regular gas? http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/kjw-gbb-m9a1-metal.html http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/kjw-gbb-m9a1-metal-co2.html are these full metal or just the slide? the descriptions are kinda deceiving... |
Purchase whatever one you can aquire the gas for easiest, personally I would go with the regular green gas pistol, as in the long run green gas will be cheaper to aquire if you simply purchase a propane adapter.
Both pistols should be full metal, both slide and frame, atleast that is what my experience with KJ works has taught me. |
if you are in canada, i hope you arnt going to order from that site...

I have a KJW M9 Elite IA and it's served me very well. Shoots straight and hard, but not too hard. Nice blowback. Feels good in the hand too, nothing beats full metal for feel.
Alot of people claim they're gas hogs but with good mags I can get two to two and a half mags of ammo for one mags worth of gas in warm weather. Even on a pretty cold day and rapid fire I can always get through at least a full mags worth of ammo. It rattles alittle between the slide and the frame and a tiny bit with the mag in the well but that's inherent in a full metal gun. There are only two negatives I've found with this gun. First, the mags are alittle fincky. This isn't really a problem if you take care of them but it is a bit of a pain in buying second-hand mags. The second, which probably isn't unique to this gun, is the mag catch is one of the few parts that isn't metal. It'll wear down over time where it holds the mag into the well. At first this will just cause alittle wasted gas due to a less then perfect seal, you'll hardly notice it's so little. But eventually the nub that holds the mag will become rounded enough that the jolt from the blow back will cause the mag to slip off the nub and fall out. This takes quite a while but will eventually happen. A makeshift fix to this, since the gun is made to be ambidextrous you can switch it to left handed which uses the other edge of the catch. You can easily order a new plastic catch for $4. I currently have on order a steel catch ($12) that is made for TM's but I've been informed will work on a KJW. I'll update this when it arrives. Oh, and in terms of gas type, go with green gas (aka propane). It's cheaper (with the purchase of a propane adaptor) and has less hassle. Mags are easier to get too. Kuro_Neko |

it wont make it past the border, its illegal to import guns that do not have clear bodys

I guarantee your satisfaction. |
I have the KJW M9, and TM mags DO NOT work in it at all. I bought a TM mag, hoping to have an alternative to the chronically leaky KJW mags, and it didn't work. I tried 2 other TM mags, and they didn't work either. Measurement shows the TM mag is about 2mm shorter than the KJW.While it fits in the gun, it doesn't actually fire.
My KJW has seen a couple of thousand rounds worth of plinking, and it still works like new. The mag catch has worn out, and I had to reverse it to left-hand operation, which I don't mind. It still shoots hard (about 310 fps) and very straight and has a nice effective range. My only beef with this gun is the mags tend to start leaking - not from the valves, but from around the main base seal. I keep fixing them, but they start leaking agian shortly after. I have a couple of mags that are good, and 2 that are perpetually being repaired. Then again, I have TM mags for my P226 that do the same thing all the time too... As for KSC, I'd say it's definitely a better quality gun all around, but I prefer the feel of the KJW. |
just arrived! feels and looks pretty damn good!!! i'll test it soon...
|
i finally got some gas and i was able to test it, I AM VERY HAPPY ABOUT MY CHOICE!!!! the gun shoots smoothly good blowback and accuracy feels great!
only one prob i got two extra mag one black and one silver (don't ask y please :banghead: ) the black one works just fine but the silver won't stop the slide after the last shoot the look exactly the same and if i put it in without bbs it will stop the slide... any ideas? |
Then, you're wrong, Amos.
KSC doesn't make full metal Berettas, but metal slide, plastic framed ones. They are more expensive than the plastic ones (about the same prize as a Maruzen P99, if you know how much the P99 is). I recommend the metal slide ones as they are more durable when using Green Gas and more realistic. KSC ensures that the hop-up doesn't have problems and no magaine leakages at stock form My friend uses a KJW M9 and he has no problem with it so far. Congratulations if you bought the KJW one, but pay attention to the hop-up and the magazine, as I know some KJW M9s fail on their hop-ups and some have magazine leakages. If there are any of these problems on your KJW one, it would be a pain to correct them. Overall, I recommend the KSC one over the KJW one, but again its all up to you to decide. |
lol dont get me started kjw is awesome only ever had one leeky mag and it was easly fixed with some lube, now the mag catch wore out and i started to buy and modify sligtly tm replacment ones until i maned up bought a metal one and then moded it took a bit but well worth it best gun ever! about 10k rounds threw it
