style of play
 

hey guys im new to airsoft (im still waiting for my first gun in the mail)

so im wondering about different styles of play because i have one in mind.
what i mean by style of play is how you would react during different situations, maybe there is somthings u like to do in a game that gives u a thrill(ex throwing your aeg away in the middle of a game and playing with your side arm just for fun) anything at all that is unique to you and adds to your style of play. so im wondering do people do that?

the reason im asking is because i fear that when your in a team they might not like you dressing differently and playing differently.

im also wondering what kind of unique styles people have so please share :)

there is the not-calling-their-hits style that I know of, usually it's the opposing team that uses it :D

We get a lot of "not-calling-their-hits" style here in Vancouver...

Once the most ridiculous time was that we had four guns shooting at the same person from the y.s. team, who was running across a 5 ~ 10m gap. Think about it, four guns shooting at a single player (and the same + identical player), there's almost 0% chance that there would be a miss.

So, the final story was that the "player" survived and managed to play until the end.

I'll leave the rest for your imagination on how he did it.

There is no specific way of playing. It all depends on you and your team members. You'll talk to your team members when you're in a team, and you'll get trained by and with them so you'll become familiar with how your team works.

In real combats or milsims, no one does movie-like actions, unless you like to be dramatic or a "drama queen" (figurative).

There are 2 styles of play, Effective and Ineffective Most people start out ineffective and become effective as they gain experience with what works and what does not. You can try to figure this out for yourself.. or you can learn from people that are already effective.

If you are dressing differently and playing differently than your team... then you are not really on the team then are you?

You don't have to be on a team to play.. most players are not on teams.

I like to bunny hop, although it gets tiring very quickly.

Honestly though, I prefer in a squad or two man fire team thats how I like it!

I generally like working in small squads, 2-4 people, toward a common objective. Working with more people than that at once gets hard to co-ordinate, working with fewer (or alone) gets, well, lonely, and there is a loss of any tactics.

How to develop
 

1. sort out your gear and gun.. know how to use it .. and what it can do. Don't cheap out on gear.. Work on individual skills, Loading, shooting, Moving.. us of cover. Get training if you don't know what you are doing.
2. find a Buddy that you want to play with.. its helpfull if you run the same gun. Play with this fellow as much as you can.. get to know one another..
3. learn how to move together.. one watching over the other..
4. Go to games together.. work as a unit.. play with as many people you can, travel to other places if you can afford it.
5. Bring a third person in and foster their development based on your own experience, Then encourage the third to bring in a 4th to be his buddy.

Repeat... soon your race of atomic supermen will rule to world.

im a run & gun and duck behind cover to re-load and or avoid fire/sneak and ambush kind of person

intresting thoughts thanks for the replys, and for me my style would be ultra lightweight for maximum mobility so i wouldnt really be intrested in using big vests or anything too cumbersome (excuse my french)

I'm the sneaky guy who likes to crawl. But ones I can get a target, the trigger finger doesn't let go until I hear hit or a hand up!

I like to teabag my enemies dead corpses by pressing in the joystick rapidly. Oh wait, this isn't a videogame...

I like to charge at people screaming.

I'm not joking either.

Another one of my favorites is to stand in the wide open and just point at people.

I also like to sneak around and stab them with a rubber knife.

First game he did that right off the bat, it worked scarily well- also pulled off possibly the most impressive shot I've ever seen in Airsoft, hitting me in the finger (all that was exposed) as I was pulling myself back through a door- WHILE he was running and screaming with a TMP.

So I guess if one day I go to Winnipeg and play airsoft I should be on his team right? :P

Oh right, I forgot about that...

I like picking people off at a distance or through brush with my AUG :D.

I generally have two speeds in a game; stop and sprint :S

Sprinting on "GO" works a LOT better than you might imagine

i like that see this is just what i was talking about, "stand and point" now who else but you does that amos? im sure noone. very unique

While pointing I often make gun noises such as "BRRRAAP BRRRAP"

I'm 100% convinced it's a very useful demoralization tactic.

I Strap Claymores on and rush into Opfor strong holds.
(usually with a shemagh also)

I have something that's been effectionaly named "The Puke Tube"

TokyoSeven and I came up with this one. It's basically a modified CO2 canaster that houses a LONG plastic tube full of BB's...

It fires about 300 BB's at 300+ FPS for over 100 a feet.

Best part about it is that it can be snaked around corners... or even fed down your sleeve for when you want to live out those "Spider-man" moments :)

same here man!, my other "style" is I can use left and right hands (I know I know but this isnt RS) when I'm goin around corners, I feel kinda guilty because I know im not left handed but still, it's effective!

attacking while somebody is re-loading is good,
and shooting people when they cant see where youre at is cool
always fun to shoot that one little bit of a person thats sticking out while theyre behind cover and them being like wtf??

The hose shot works amazingly, now what we need to do is combine your charging and screaming tactic with about 3 or 4 of those BB shot hoses and we should be in a business.

im agressive style. i rush and use a powerfull gun. it works for me but not for many other people

I like to evade BB's, I have this magic BB evasion aura that makes me extremely difficult to hit, ask any MAA player lol

I play naked... It makes me go faster
